Kolli Vijayaa,* , G. Venkata Ramana Reddya

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.12

Abstract Present investigation aims at analyzing the properties of heat and transport phenomena of thermal energy and species mass in a non-Darcy Casson fluid flow induced by a erected porous elongated surface considering the effect of non-linear radioactive heat, thermophorosis, first order chemical reaction, Newtonian heating, thermo diffusion, permeability and slip conditions. Influence of critical parameters are widely studied. By inducing the variables of similarity the basic boundary layer equations are transmuted into dimensionless equations and are resolved arithmetically using Runge – Kutta – Fehlberg shooting techniques method. The dominance of critical parameters against velocity, temperature, and concentration are explicated through… More >

    Rabha Khatyr*, Jaafar Khalid Naciri

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-11, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.5

Abstract The present study focuses on the effects of viscous dissipation and axial heat conduction on the asymptotic behavior of the laminar forced convection in a circular duct for a Herschel-Bulkley fluid with variable wall heat flux. Analytical asymptotic solutions are presented for the case of axial variations of the wall heat flux, with finite non-vanishing values at infinity along the flow direction. The asymptotic bulk and mixing Nusselt numbers and the asymptotic bulk and mixing temperature distributions are evaluated analytically in the case of axially variable wall heat flux for which polynomial and logarithmic functions are considered as examples. Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-10, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.18

Abstract The present study concentrates on squeeze MHD flow of Casson fluid between parallel plates surrounded by a porous medium. The influence of melting, viscous dissipation and thermal radiation on the heat transfer process is disclosed. The characteristics of mass transport are detected with chemical reactions. Suitable similarity transforms are used to convert the partial differential equations into a system of ordinary differential equations. The transformed equations are solved using the bvp4c matlab solver with the shooting method. Our present study concluded that fluid velocity has direct relation with melting parameter while it is reciprocally related to squeezing parameter and reverse… More >

EFFECTS OF VISCOUS DISSIPATION AND AXIAL HEAT CONDUCTION ON FORCED CONVECTION DUCT FLOW OF HERSCHEL-BULKLEY FLUID WITH UNIFORM WALL TEMPERATURE OR CONVECTIVE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

    Rabha Khatyr*, Jaafar Khalid Naciri

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-8, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.23

Abstract The aim is to study the asymptotic behavior of the temperature field for the laminar forced convection of a Herschel-Bulkley fluid flowing in a circular duct considering both viscous dissipation and axial heat conduction. The asymptotic bulk and mixing Nusselt numbers and the asymptotic bulk and mixing temperature distribution are evaluated analytically in the cases of uniform wall temperature and convection with an external isothermal fluid. In particular, it has been proved that the fully developed value of Nusselt number for convective boundary conditions is independent of the Biot number and is equal to the value of fully developed Nusselt… More >

ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF THE EXTENDED GRAETZ PROBLEM IN MICROCHANNELS AND MICROTUBES WITH FIXED PRESSURE DROP

Mohamed Shaimi* , Rabha Khatyr, Jaafar Khalid Naciri

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-14, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.23

Abstract This paper presents an exact analytical solution to the extended Graetz problem in microchannels and microtubes, including axial heat conduction, viscous dissipation, and rarefaction effects for an imposed constant wall temperature. The flow in the microchannel or microtube is assumed to be hydrodynamically fully developed. At the same time, the first-order slip-velocity and temperature jump models represent the wall boundary conditions. The energy equation is solved analytically, and the solution is obtained in terms of Kummer functions with expansion constants directly determined from explicit expressions. The local and fully developed Nusselt numbers are calculated in terms of the Péclet number,… More >

    Samia Rani1, H. A. M. Al–Sharifi2, Mohammad S. Zannon3, Abid Hussanan1,*, Zafar Ullah1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.7, pp. 1875-1896, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025224

Abstract Sodium-alginate (SA) based nanofluids represent a new generation of fluids with improved performances in terms of heat transfer. This work examines the influence of the nanoparticle shape on a non–Newtonian viscoplastic Cu–nanofluid pertaining to this category. In particular, a stretching/shrinking sheet subjected to a transverse magnetic field is considered. The proposed Cu–nanofluid consists of four different nanoparticles having different shapes, namely bricks, cylinders, platelets, and blades dispersed in a mixture of sodium alginate with Prandtl number Pr = 6.45. Suitable similarity transformations are employed to reduce non–linear PDEs into a system of ODEs and these equations and related boundary conditions… More >

    Muhammad Salman Kausar1, H.A.M. Al-Sharifi2, Abid Hussanan3,*, Mustafa Mamat1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 61-81, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.021590

Abstract In this paper, the effects of thermal radiation and viscous dissipation on the stagnation–point flow of a micropolar fluid over a permeable stretching sheet with suction and injection are analyzed and discussed. A suitable similarity transformation is used to convert the governing nonlinear partial differential equations into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are then solved numerically by a fourth–order Runge–Kutta method. It is found that the linear fluid velocity decreases with the enhancement of the porosity, boundary, and suction parameters. Conversely, it increases with the micropolar and injection parameters. The angular velocity grows with the boundary, porosity,… More >
