Advances in Solid Waste Processing and Recycling Technologies for Civil Engineering Materials

Edited by: Jin Yang, Zongwu Chen, Zhengyao Qu

Recycling industrial solid wastes in civil engineering materials is a crucial strategy for saving nonrenewable resources and protecting the environment. However, the material properties of solid wastes differ signiffcantly from natural resources. Some property defects, such as low strength of recycled aggregates and volume expansion of smelting slag, hinder their use in civil engineering materials. TTis special issue aims to highlight the materials processing and modiffcation technologies that can enhance the properties of typical wastes and improve the performance of waste-based civil engineering materials. It consists of 21 research articles focusing on the latest advancements in these ffelds. In particular, the related contributions can be categorized into six main themes:

1. Solid Waste Disposal and Utilization

2. Rheology and Transport of Cement-Based Materials

3. High/Ultra-High Performance Concrete

4. Conventional Cement Concrete

5. Asphalt-Based Road Engineering Materials

6. Other New Civil Engineering Materials
