Revue Internationale de Géomatique (RIG) welcomes its new Editor-in-Chief Prof. Manchun Li

It is with our great pleasure to announce Prof. Manchun Li, Nanjing University, China, as the new Editor-in-Chief for Revue Internationale de Géomatique (RIG, the International Journal of Geomatics), beginning on the 10th April of 2024. We believe Prof. Li will lead RIG forward with inspiration and rigor in the community of Geomatics. We would also like to give special thanks to our previous Editor-in-Chief Prof. Paule-Annick Davoine who has retired since February 2024 and the many members on our Editorial Board who have nurtured RIG over the past 33 years with their dedication.

Prof. Manchun Li is currently a professor in the School of Geography and Ocean Science at Nanjing University, China. His research interests include the geographic information technology, territorial spatial planning, land use, geospatial science and digital mapping.

Prof. Manchun Li is an Academician of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences (IEAS), and an elected Fellow of the Chinese Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC). He is active in international conferences in the field of geography. He holds the position of vice president of China Association for Geospatial Industry and Sciences, the executive director of the China Land Science Society, the executive director of the CSGPC, the member of the Chinese National Committee of ISDE, and the Chief of the Jiangsu Association for the Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System.

Prof. Manchun Li has previously led national key research and development projects, national natural science foundation key projects, and national science and technology support program projects. He has been awarded 5 China national-level science and teaching awards, published over 400 papers, and his works have been cited over 8000 times.


Let's all congratulate Prof. Li in this new role. We firmly believe under the scientific leadership of Prof. Li, RIG will continue to paint an informative picture and foster the advances in the science of geomatics.
