Call for Early Career Editorial Board Members and Reviewers

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD, ISSN: 1747-0803) is the premier global journal dedicated to the clinical treatment and basic research of congenital heart disease in both pediatric and adult populations. It is the official journal of the Children’s Hospital Affiliated Nanjing Medical University. The journal emphasizes publishing high-quality clinical studies, invited editorials, comprehensive reviews, case reports, and historical and developmental perspectives on congenital heart disease. Additionally, it periodically releases special issues. CHD is indexed in prominent international databases and platforms, including the Science Citation Index (SCI, Web of Science), Scopus, and ProQuest, with an average impact factor of 1.6 over the past five years. The editorial leadership includes Professor Xuming Mo from Children’s Hospital Affiliated Nanjing Medical University (China), Professor Vladimiro L. Vida from Padova Hospital (Italy), and Professor Kisaburo Sakamoto from Shizuoka Children’s Hospital (Japan), supported by an editorial board of over 100 distinguished experts in the field of congenital heart disease from around the world.


Recruitment Criteria for Early Career Editorial Board Members and Reviewers:

1. Academic Qualifications: Ph.D. degree with candidates under the age of 45 (exceptions may be made for outstanding candidates).

2. Publication Record: At least 2 publications as first or corresponding author in internationally recognized academic journals (2nd quartile or higher according to the JCR or CAS) within the past 5 years.

3. Preferred Experience: Preference given to candidates with national or international collaborative research projects and experience in reviewing for international SCI journals.

4. Relevant Achievements: Preference for candidates with cutting-edge scientific achievements and prior publications in CHD.

5. Public Influence: Preference for candidates with significant personal influence in academic dissemination, such as managing public accounts or professional discussion groups.


Responsibilities of Early Career Editorial Board Members and Reviewers:

1. Manuscript Solicitation: Recommend or solicit high-quality manuscripts within their areas of expertise.

2. Peer Review: Serve as peer reviewers to maintain the journal’s academic standards.

3. Academic Reporting: Summarize and promote selected articles through media channels.

4. Journal Promotion: Promote the journal at major international academic conferences and other scholarly platforms.

5. Academic Participation: Actively participate in editorial board meetings and relevant academic conferences or training sessions.

Term and Evaluation of Early Career Editorial Board Members and Reviewers:

· Term Duration:

1. Each term lasts 2 years.

2. Annual evaluations will determine reappointment or dismissal based on performance.

· Evaluation Criteria:

3. Early Career editorial board members must actively fulfill their responsibilities and participate in annual evaluations. Outstanding contributors may be promoted to full editorial board members.

4. Reviewers must complete at least 2 peer reviews annually and participate in annual evaluations. Outstanding contributors may be promoted to early career editorial board members.

5. Adherence to academic ethics and dedication to duties is required. Any academic misconduct will result in termination of the appointment.
