Retraction notice to “Targeted Silencing of Kim-1 Inhibits the Growth of Clear Cell Renal Cell Carcinoma Cell Line 786-0 In Vitro and In Vivo” [Oncology Research 26(7) (2018) 997–1003]

Retraction statement: In this study, to examine the specific effect of Kim-1 siRNA in 786-0 cells, the expression levels of Kim-1 mRNA and protein were determined quantitatively using qRT-PCR and Western blot analyses, respectively. Compared with the NC group, relative mRNA and protein expression of Kim-1 are significantly decreased (p < 0.01, n = 3) in 786-0 cells of the KD group, whereas the NC group has no significant difference compared with the CON group. But the data shown in Fig. 1 cannot be repeated by our further experiments, which makes it impossible to accurately deduce the conclusion that “Kim-1 siRNA suppresses Kim-1 expression at both the mRNA and protein levels.” We sus- pected that some factors interfered with the experiment in the article, which resulted in the false-positive result. We want to determine the reason and do more experiments to verify our conclusions. In order to prevent our imprecise article from compromising the reputation of Oncology Research and Cognizant, we would like to withdraw the article.
