    B. Venkateswarlua, P.V. Satya Narayanab,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.7, pp. 1-9, 2016, DOI:10.5098/hmt.7.16

Abstract This paper studies the Soret and Dufour effects on MHD flow of a Casson fluid past a stretching sheet in the presence of chemical reaction, viscous dissipation and variable thermal conductivity. The fluid is taken to be electrically conducting and the flow is induced by a stretching surface. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into non-linear ordinary differential equations using similarity transformations. The resulting equations are then solved numerically by shooting method. The impact of various stimulating parameters on the flow, heat and mass transfer characteristics are analyzed and discussed in detail through graphs. It is observed that the… More >

    S. Harinath Reddya , M.C. Rajua,*, E. Keshava Reddyb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.7, pp. 1-9, 2016, DOI:10.5098/hmt.7.21

Abstract This manuscript presents a detailed numerical study on the influence of radiation absorption and chemical reaction on unsteady magneto hydrodynamic free convective heat and mass transfer flow. A heat generating Casson fluid past an oscillating vertical plate embedded in a porous medium in the presence of constant wall temperature and concentration is considered. The non-dimensional governing equations along with the corresponding boundary conditions are solved using Finite difference method numerically. Effects of various emerging flow parameters on concentration, temperature and velocity distributions are presented graphically and analyzed. Expressions for skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also obtained. Effects of… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.1

Abstract An analysis is performed to investigate the effects of Joule heating and thermal diffusion on unsteady, viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting MHD heat and mass transfer free convection Casson fluid flow past an oscillating semi-infinite vertical moving porous plate in the presence of heat source/sink and an applied transverse magnetic field. Initially it is assumed that the plate and surrounding fluid at the same temperature and concentration at all the points in stationary condition in the entire flow region. Thereafter a constant temperature is given to the plate hence the buoyancy effect is supporting the fluid to move in upward direction… More >

    Hamzeh T. Alkasasbeh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-8, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.32

Abstract This paper focuses on the numerical solution for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of micropolar Casson fluid with thermal radiation over a horizontal circular cylinder. The nonlinear partial differential equations of the boundary layer are first transformed into a non-dimensional form and then solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme known as Keller-box method. The The effects of the emerging parameters, namely Casson fluid parameter, magnetic parameter, radiation parameter and micropolar parameter on the local Nusselt number and the local skin friction coefficient, as well as the temperature, velocity and angular velocity profiles are shown graphically and discussed. The present results… More >

IMPACT OF CATTANEO-CHRISTOV HEAT FLUX IN THE CASSON FLUID FLOW OVER A STRETCHING SURFACE WITH ALIGNED MAGNETIC FIELD AND HOMOGENEOUS - HETEROGENEOUS CHEMICAL REACTION

    P. Bala Anki Reddya,*, S. Suneethab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.10, pp. 1-9, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.10.7

Abstract This work concentrates on the effects of homogeneous-heterogeneous chemical reactions on MHD boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over a stretching surface. Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model is considered instead of classical Fourier’s law to explore the heat transfer phenomena. Appropriate similarity transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations into a system of coupled non-linear differential equations. The resulting coupled non-linear differential equations are solved numerically by using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. The impact of significant parameters on velocity, temperature, concentration, skin friction coefficient and the Nusselt number are presented graphically and in tabular… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.11, pp. 1-11, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.11.19

Abstract The present paper deals with the thermo physical properties of a Casson fluid through an oscillating vertical wall embedded through porous medium under the influence transverse magnetic field, radiation, constant heat source and first order chemical reaction. The radiative heat loss is modelled by using Rosseland approximation. Similarity variables were used to convert the partial differential equations into ordinary differential equation. The transformed ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using Runge - Kutta -Fehlberg method with shooting technique. In order to get perfect perception of the flow pattern we obtain the graphs of axial velocity, temperature and concentrations profiles for… More >

    Bhagawan Singh Yadav, Sushila Choudhary

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-10, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.18

Abstract The present study concentrates on squeeze MHD flow of Casson fluid between parallel plates surrounded by a porous medium. The influence of melting, viscous dissipation and thermal radiation on the heat transfer process is disclosed. The characteristics of mass transport are detected with chemical reactions. Suitable similarity transforms are used to convert the partial differential equations into a system of ordinary differential equations. The transformed equations are solved using the bvp4c matlab solver with the shooting method. Our present study concluded that fluid velocity has direct relation with melting parameter while it is reciprocally related to squeezing parameter and reverse… More >

Muhammad Amin Murada,*, Faraidun Hamasalhb, Hajar F. Ismaelc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-8, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.7

Abstract In this paper, we study the behavior of heat transfer of Casson fluid at the magnetohydrodynamic stagnation point with thermal radiation over a continuous moving sheet. The appropriate similarity transfer is used to transfer the governing differential equations into the ordinary differential equation and then solved by the collocation method based on spline function. The obtained results are investigated with the existing literature by direct comparison. We found that an increment in the value of the shrinking parameter, magnetic parameter, and Casson fluid parameter enhances the velocity distribution and depreciate the temperature profile both Casson and Newtonian fluids. Furthermore, the… More >
