Abstract The scope of this research is to design and fuse the sensors used in the self-balancing vehicle through Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference systems (ANFIS) algorithm to optimize the output. The self-balancing vehicle is a wheeled inverted pendulum, which is extremely complex, nonlinear and unstable. Homogeneous and Heterogeneous sensors are involved in this sensor fusion research to identify the best feasible value among them. The data fusion algorithm present inside the controller of the self-balancing vehicle makes the inputs of the homogeneous sensors and heterogeneous sensors separately for ameliorate surrounding perception. Simulation is performed by modeling the… More >

    S. S. Selva Pradeep*, M. Marsaline Beno

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1757-1770, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023470 - 24 March 2022

Abstract The Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors have shown to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional motors. The smooth and efficient operation of the BLDC motor is dependent on speed regulation. This research proposes a sensorless intelligent speed control technique for BLDC using an Adaptive Network-based Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) based Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm. The motor’s back EMF is measured, and ANFIS is used to generate Hall signals. The ABC is then utilized to provide the pulses needed for the three-phase inverter, avoiding the requirement of logic gate circuits. The input DC voltage to… More >

Abstract This paper presents a design and real-time application of an efficient Artificial Intelligence (AI) method assembled with PID controller of an eddy current dynamometer (ECD) for robustness due to highly nonlinear system by reason of some magnetism phenomena such as skin effect and dissipated heat of eddy currents. PID Control which is known as the most popular conventional control method in industry is inadequate for such nonlinear systems. On the other hand, Adaptive Neural Fuzzy Interference System (ANFIS), Single Hidden Layer Neural Network (SHLNN), General Regression Neural Network (GRNN), and Radial Basis Neural Network (RBNN)… More >

    S. Aravindkumar*, P. Varalakshmi

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 601-617, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023783 - 05 January 2022

    Abstract

Traffic related accidents and route congestions remain to dwell significant issues in the globe. To overcome this, VANET was proposed to enhance the traffic management. However, there are several drawbacks in VANET such as collision of vehicles, data transmission in high probability of network fragmentation and data congestion. To overcome these issues, the Enhanced Pigeon Inspired Optimization (EPIO) and the Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) based methods have been proposed. The Cluster Head (CH) has been selected optimally using the EPIO approach, and then the ANFIS has been used for updating and validating the

    S. Vimalnath1,*, G. Ravi2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1687-1699, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023083 - 09 December 2021

Abstract With recent advancements in machine-to-machine (M2M), the demand for fastest communication is an utmost concern of the M2M technology. The advent of 5G telecommunication networks enables to bridge the demand on satisfying the Quality-of-Service (QoS) concerns in M2M communication. The massive number of devices in M2M communication is henceforth do not lie under limited resource allocation by embedding the 5G telecommunication network. In this paper, we address the above limitation of allocation the resource to prominent M2M devices using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). In ANFIS, the adoption of rules will imply the resource More >

    Narongkorn Uthathip1,*, Pornrapeepat Bhasaputra1, Woraratana Pattaraprakorn2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 69-86, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.020120 - 02 December 2021

Abstract Generally, road transport is a major energy-consuming sector. Fuel consumption of each vehicle is an important factor that affects the overall energy consumption, driving behavior and vehicle characteristic are the main factors affecting the change of vehicle fuel consumption. It is difficult to analyze the influence of fuel consumption with multiple and complex factors. The Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) approach was employed to develop a vehicle fuel consumption model based on multivariate input. The ANFIS network was constructed by various experiments based on the ANFIS Parameter setting. The performance of the ANFIS network was… More >

    D. Sabaripandiyan1,*, H. Habeebullah Sait2, G. Aarthi3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.2, pp. 1055-1070, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021950 - 17 November 2021

Abstract The main aspiration of this paper is to improve the efficiency of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) power system with a new Hybrid controller for standalone/isolated Solar PV applications is proposed. This controller uses the merits of both Adapted Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) and Perturbation & Observation (P&O) control techniques to concede rapid recovery at dynamic change of environment conditions such as solar irradiation and temperature. The ANFIS strategy itself has the merits over Fuzzy Logic and ANN methods. Conversely, P&O has its simplicity in implementation. Hence a case study for rapid recovery with the proposed controller… More >

    K. K. Thyagharajan, I. Kiruba Raji*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2061-2076, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017591 - 21 July 2021

Abstract This paper proposes an approach to detecting diseases in neem leaf that uses a Fuzzy-Higher Order Biologically Inspired Neuron Model (F-HOBINM) and adaptive neuro classifier (ANFIS). India exports USD 0.28-million worth of neem leaf to the UK, USA, UAE, and Europe in the form of dried leaves and powder, both of which help reduce diabetes-related issues, cardiovascular problems, and eye disorders. Diagnosing neem leaf disease is difficult through visual interpretation, owing to similarity in their color and texture patterns. The most common diseases include bacterial blight, Colletotrichum and Alternaria leaf spot, blight, damping-off, powdery mildew,… More >

Abstract In this study, a systematic data-driven adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) modelling methodology is proposed. The new methodology employs an unsupervised competitive learning scheme to build an initial ANFIS structure from input-output data, and a high-performance PSO-LSE method is developed to improve the structure and to identify the consequent parameters of ANFIS model. This proposed modelling approach is evaluated using several nonlinear systems and is shown to outperform other modelling approaches. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed approach is able to find the most suitable architecture with better results compared with other methods from More >
