Abstract Low visibility conditions, particularly those caused by fog, significantly affect road safety and reduce drivers’ ability to see ahead clearly. The conventional approaches used to address this problem primarily rely on instrument-based and fixed-threshold-based theoretical frameworks, which face challenges in adaptability and demonstrate lower performance under varying environmental conditions. To overcome these challenges, we propose a real-time visibility estimation model that leverages roadside CCTV cameras to monitor and identify visibility levels under different weather conditions. The proposed method begins by identifying specific regions of interest (ROI) in the CCTV images and focuses on extracting specific… More >

Multiple-Object Tracking Using Histogram Stamp Extraction in CCTV Environments

    Ye-Yeon Kang1, Geon Park1, Hyun Yoo2, Kyungyong Chung1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 3619-3635, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043566 - 26 December 2023

Abstract Object tracking, an important technology in the field of image processing and computer vision, is used to continuously track a specific object or person in an image. This technology may be effective in identifying the same person within one image, but it has limitations in handling multiple images owing to the difficulty in identifying whether the object appearing in other images is the same. When tracking the same object using two or more images, there must be a way to determine that objects existing in different images are the same object. Therefore, this paper attempts… More >

Intelligent Ammunition Detection and Classification System Using Convolutional Neural Network

    Gulzar Ahmad1, Saad Alanazi2, Madallah Alruwaili2, Fahad Ahmad3,6, Muhammad Adnan Khan4,*, Sagheer Abbas1, Nadia Tabassum5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.2, pp. 2585-2600, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015080 - 05 February 2021

Abstract Security is a significant issue for everyone due to new and creative ways to commit cybercrime. The Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems are being installed in offices, houses, shopping malls, and on streets to protect lives. Operators monitor CCTV; however, it is difficult for a single person to monitor the actions of multiple people at one time. Consequently, there is a dire need for an automated monitoring system that detects a person with ammunition or any other harmful material Based on our research and findings of this study, we have designed a new Intelligent Ammunition Detection… More >
