    Zongshuai Liu1, Xuyu Xiang1,2,*, Jiaohua Qin1, Yun Tan1, Qin Zhang1, Neal N. Xiong3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 457-466, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012165

Abstract In recent years, with the development of machine learning and deep learning, it is possible to identify and even control crop diseases by using electronic devices instead of manual observation. In this paper, an image recognition method of citrus diseases based on deep learning is proposed. We built a citrus image dataset including six common citrus diseases. The deep learning network is used to train and learn these images, which can effectively identify and classify crop diseases. In the experiment, we use MobileNetV2 model as the primary network and compare it with other network models in the aspect of speed,… More >

Research on Prevention of Citrus Anthracnose Based on Image Retrieval Technology

    Xuefei Du*, Xuyu Xiang

Journal of Information Hiding and Privacy Protection, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 11-19, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jihpp.2020.010114

Abstract Citrus anthracnose is a common fungal disease in citrus-growing areas in China, which causes very serious damage. At present, the manual management method is time-consuming and labor-consuming, which reduces the control effect of citrus anthracnose. Therefore, by designing and running the image retrieval system of citrus anthracnose, the automatic recognition and analysis of citrus anthracnose control were realized, and the control effect of citrus anthracnose was improved. In this paper, based on the self-collected and collated citrus anthracnose image database, we use three image features to realize an image retrieval system based on citrus anthracnose through SMV, AP clustering optimization.… More >

Effect of heat conditioning on chilling injury susceptibility of Persian lime (Citrus latifolia Tanaka)

    Bosquez Molina1 E, J Domínguez Soberanes1, L Perez Flores2, S Bautista Baños3, F Díaz de León Sánchez2, F Rivera-Cabrera2

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.77, pp. 161-174, 2008, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2008.77.161

Abstract Cold storage is one of the most important technologies used to maintain the postharvest quality of many horticultural commodities. However, cold storage is restricted for Persian lime because of its susceptibility to chilling injury. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of high temperature conditioning on the susceptibility to chilling injury in Persian lime (Citrus latifolia Tanaka). It was harvested in Martínez de la Torre, Veracruz, Mexico, and stored at different refrigeration temperatures. After harvesting, fruits received the following treatments: (1) hot water conditioning (53 °C during 3 min); (2) hot air conditioning (38 °C, 90-95 %… More >

Valorization of Citrus Waste: Use in Catalysis for the Oxidation of Sulfides

María Belén Colombo Migliorero, Valeria Palermo*, Patricia Graciela Vázquez, Gustavo Pablo Romanelli

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.5, No.3-4, pp. 167-173, 2017, DOI:10.7569/JRM.2017.634108

Abstract The utilization and valorization of industrial waste is an effective strategy for environmental protection. Since the juice industry generates a huge amount of citrus waste, we studied the application of thermally treated orange peel in catalysis. On the other hand, Keggin heteropolyacids are excellent oxidant catalysts used as a replacement for conventional oxidants; however, their solubility in polar solvents and the low specific area limit their use as heterogeneous catalysts. The utilization of treated orange peel as heteropolyacid support for the selective oxidation of sulfides is presented here. Firstly, orange peel was thermally treated, and then it was incorporated with… More >
