A Novel Gradient Boosted Energy Optimization Model (GBEOM) for MANET

    Neenavath Veeraiah1,*, Youseef Alotaibi2, Saleh Alghamdi3, Satish Thatavarti4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 637-657, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.034224

Abstract Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less network that is comprised of a set of nodes that move randomly. In MANET, the overall performance is improved through multipath multicast routing to achieve the quality of service (quality of service). In this, different nodes are involved in the information data collection and transmission to the destination nodes in the network. The different nodes are combined and presented to achieve energy-efficient data transmission and classification of the nodes. The route identification and routing are established based on the data broadcast by the network nodes. In transmitting the data packet, evaluating the… More >

Classification of Request-Based Mobility Load Balancing in Fog Computing

    D. Deepa, K. R. Jothi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 137-151, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032485

Abstract Every day, more and more data is being produced by the Internet of Things (IoT) applications. IoT data differ in amount, diversity, veracity, and velocity. Because of latency, various types of data handling in cloud computing are not suitable for many time-sensitive applications. When users move from one site to another, mobility also adds to the latency. By placing computing close to IoT devices with mobility support, fog computing addresses these problems. An efficient Load Balancing Algorithm (LBA) improves user experience and Quality of Service (QoS). Classification of Request (CoR) based Resource Adaptive LBA is suggested in this research. Hash-Indexing Block-Based Deduplication Algorithm for Reducing Storage in the Cloud

    D. Viji*, S. Revathy

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 27-42, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030259

Abstract Cloud storage is essential for managing user data to store and retrieve from the distributed data centre. The storage service is distributed as pay a service for accessing the size to collect the data. Due to the massive amount of data stored in the data centre containing similar information and file structures remaining in multi-copy, duplication leads to increase storage space. The potential deduplication system doesn’t make efficient data reduction because of inaccuracy in finding similar data analysis. It creates a complex nature to increase the storage consumption under cost. To resolve this problem, this paper proposes an efficient storage… More >

    Reem Alkanhel1, Kalaiselvi Chinnathambi2, C. Thilagavathi3, Mohamed Abouhawwash4,5, Mona A. Al duailij6, Manal Abdullah Alohali7, Doaa Sami Khafaga6,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 1571-1583, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033430

Abstract Wireless Sensor Networks are a group of sensors with inadequate power sources that are installed in a particular region to gather information from the surroundings. Designing energy-efficient data gathering methods in large-scale Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is one of the most difficult areas of study. As every sensor node has a finite amount of energy. Battery power is the most significant source in the WSN. Clustering is a well-known technique for enhancing the power feature in WSN. In the proposed method multi-Swarm optimization based on a Genetic Algorithm and Adaptive Hierarchical clustering-based routing protocol are used for enhancing the network’s… More >

Faster Region Based Convolutional Neural Network for Skin Lesion Segmentation

    G. Murugesan1,*, J. Jeyapriya2, M. Hemalatha3, S. Rajeshkannan4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2099-2109, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.032068

Abstract The diagnostic interpretation of dermoscopic images is a complex task as it is very difficult to identify the skin lesions from the normal. Thus the accurate detection of potential abnormalities is required for patient monitoring and effective treatment. In this work, a Two-Tier Segmentation (TTS) system is designed, which combines the unsupervised and supervised techniques for skin lesion segmentation. It comprises preprocessing by the median filter, TTS by Colour K-Means Clustering (CKMC) for initial segmentation and Faster Region based Convolutional Neural Network (FR-CNN) for refined segmentation. The CKMC approach is evaluated using the different number of clusters (k = 3,… More >

Energy-Efficient Routing Protocol with Multi-Hop Fuzzy Logic for Wireless Networks

    J. Gobinath1,*, S. Hemajothi2, J. S. Leena Jasmine3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2457-2471, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031171

Abstract A Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) becomes a newer type of real-time embedded device that can be utilized for a wide range of applications that make regular networking which appears impracticable. Concerning the energy production of the nodes, WSN has major issues that may influence the stability of the system. As a result, constructing WSN requires devising protocols and standards that make the most use of constrained capacity, especially the energy resources. WSN faces some issues with increased power utilization and an on going development due to the uneven energy usage between the nodes. Clustering has proven to be a more… More >

Automatic Optic Disc Detection in Retinal Images Using FKMT‒MOPDF

    Kittipol Wisaeng*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2569-2586, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033226

Abstract In recent days, detecting Optic Disc (OD) in retinal images has been challenging and very important to the early diagnosis of eye diseases. The process of detecting the OD is challenging due to the diversity of color, intensity, brightness and shape of the OD. Moreover, the color similarities of the neighboring organs of the OD create difficulties during OD detection. In the proposed Fuzzy K‒Means Threshold (FKMT) and Morphological Operation with Pixel Density Feature (MOPDF), the input retinal images are coarsely segmented by fuzzy K‒means clustering and thresholding, in which the OD is classified from its neighboring organs with intensity… More >

Evaluation of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Plants Based on Clustering Methods

    Amr A. Munshi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2837-2852, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033168

Abstract Photovoltaic (PV) systems are electric power systems designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics, which is the conversion of light into electricity using semiconducting materials. PV systems have gained much attention and are a very attractive energy resource nowadays. The substantial advantage of PV systems is the usage of the most abundant and free energy from the sun. PV systems play an important role in reducing feeder losses, improving voltage profiles and providing ancillary services to local loads. However, large PV grid-connected systems may have a destructive impact on the stability of the electric grid. This is… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2333-2349, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.030385

Abstract Text Summarization models facilitate biomedical clinicians and researchers in acquiring informative data from enormous domain-specific literature within less time and effort. Evaluating and selecting the most informative sentences from biomedical articles is always challenging. This study aims to develop a dual-mode biomedical text summarization model to achieve enhanced coverage and information. The research also includes checking the fitment of appropriate graph ranking techniques for improved performance of the summarization model. The input biomedical text is mapped as a graph where meaningful sentences are evaluated as the central node and the critical associations between them. The proposed framework utilizes the top… More >
