    Abstract This article discussed the thermal efficiency, stability and pollutant emissions characteristics of the combustion of lean natural gas-air mixtures in Pd metal based honeycomb monoliths by means of experiments on a practical burner V. The chemistry at work in the monoliths was then investigated by the stagnation point flow reactor( SPFR), a fundamental experimental reactor.     Abstract This study presents a proposed method for assessing the condition and predicting the future status of condensers operating in seawater over an extended period. The aim is to address the problems of scaling and corrosion, which lead to increased loss of cold resources. The method involves utilising a set of multivariate feature parameters associated with the condenser as input for evaluation and trend prediction.     In Tube Condensation: Changing the Pressure Drop into a Temperature Difference for a Wire-on-Tube Heat Exchanger

    Abstract A theoretical study based on the Penalty factor (PF) method by Cavallini et al. is conducted to show that the pressure drop occurring in a wire-on-tube heat exchanger can be converted into a temperature difference for two types of refrigerants R-134a and R-600a typically used for charging refrigerators and freezers. The following conditions are considered: stratified or stratified-wavy flow condensation occurring inside the smooth tube of a wire-on-tube condenser with diameter 3.25, 4.83, and 6.299 mm, condensation temperatures 35°C, 45°C, and 54.4°C and cover refrigerant mass flow rate spanning the interval from 1 to 7 kg/hr.     Abstract Versatile vapor compression refrigeration system is designed, developed and fabricated such that desired condensing and evaporating temperatures can be obtained by providing different electronic controls for superheating, subcooling, fan speed, air heaters and water heatersto use alternative refrigerants to R134a such as R1234ze, R152a, R600a, R290 and R290/R600a (50/50%) with conventional and minichannel condenser. All the refrigerant are tested for condensing temperature ranging from 40 °C to 55 °C while evaporating temperature changes from -10 °C to 15 °C for both condensers.     Abstract This paper introduces a novel air-water thermal power plant working at low temperatures and employing hot water as a heat-supply fluid to produce utility-scale power with high second-law efficiency. The air-water power plant uses both air and water as working fluids and employs a direct-contact mass and heat transfer packing to facilitate latent heat (in terms of vapor) and sensible heat transfer from the hot water to moist air for expansion in a gas turbine to produce power.
