    Abstract This article deals the Hall and ion slip currents on free convection flow, heat and mass transfer of an electrically conducting couple stress fluid through porous channels with chemical reaction, Soret and Dufour effects. Assume that there is symmetric suction or injection along the expanding or contracting walls, which are maintained at different constant temperatures and concentrations. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to nonlinear dimensionless ordinary differential equations using the similarity transformations and solved numerically by the method of quasilinearization.     Abstract The effect of heat and mass stratification on mixed convection along a vertical plate embedded in a couple stress fluid has been presented. The nonlinear system of equations with appropriate boundary conditions is primarily reduced to non-dimensional form by pseudo-similarity transformations. Keller-box implicit finite difference scheme is employed to solve the resultant system of dimensionless equations. The validation of this scheme is shown through the comparison between the present and available literature under special case of the present problem.     Abstract This present investigation carried out the effects of Hall current, Joule heating and the thermal diffusion on mixed convection flow of electrically conducting couple stress fluid in a vertical channel saturated with porous medium. The final system of ordinary differential equations are obtained from the governing non-linear partial differential equations by using the similarity transformations. Homotopy Analysis Method has been used to solve the non-linear system. The average residue errors of the HAM solutions are presented through graphs.     Abstract A theoretical steady of two-dimensional and MHD couple stress fluid flow over a linearly stretching sheet is investigated with the effects of thermal radiation, internal heat generation and homogeneous chemical reaction of first order. The governing equations of continuity, momentum, energy and diffusion for this boundary layer flow are transformed into one set of coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations using the local similarity transformation and are then solved using the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method along with the shooting technique.     Effects of Non-Newtonian Ferrofluids on the Performance Characteristics of Long Journal Bearings

    Abstract On the basis of the Shliomis ferrofluid model (1972) together with the micro-continuum theory of Stokes (1966), the influences of non-Newtonian ferrofluids on the steady-state performance of long journal bearings have been investigated in the present paper. Analytical solutions for bearing performances are obtained from the non-Newtonian ferrofluid Reynolds-type equation. Comparing with the Newtonian non-ferrofluid case, the effects of non-Newtonian ferrofluids with applied magnetic fields provide an increase in the zero pressure-gradient angle and the load capacity, and a decrease in the friction parameter, especially for a larger non-Newtonian couple stress parameter and magnetic Langevin’s parameter.
