Abstract Visible light communication (VLC) has a paramount role in industrial implementations, especially for better energy efficiency, high speed-data rates, and low susceptibility to interference. However, since studies on VLC for industrial implementations are in scarcity, areas concerning illumination optimisation and communication performances demand further investigation. As such, this paper presents a new modelling of light fixture distribution for a warehouse model to provide acceptable illumination and communication performances. The proposed model was evaluated based on various semi-angles at half power (SAAHP) and different height levels for several parameters, including received power, signal to noise ratio (SNR), and bit error rate… More >

Leaky Cable Fixture Detection in Railway Tunnel Based on RW DCGAN and Compressed GS-YOLOv5

    Suhang Li1, Yunzuo Zhang1,*, Ruixue Liu2, Jiayu Zhang1, Zhouchen Song1, Yutai Wang1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 1163-1180, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.037902

Abstract The communication system of high-speed trains in railway tunnels needs to be built with leaky cables fixed on the tunnel wall with special fixtures. To ensure safety, checking the regular leaky cable fixture is necessary to eliminate the potential danger. At present, the existing fixture detection algorithms are difficult to take into account detection accuracy and speed at the same time. The faulty fixture is also insufficient and difficult to obtain, seriously affecting the model detection effect. To solve these problems, an innovative detection method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, we presented the Res-Net and Wasserstein-Deep Convolution GAN (RW-DCGAN)… More >

Vibration Damping Design and Testing Research of Space Payload Cabinet

    Haitao Luo1, Jia Fu1, Rong Chen1, Peng Wang2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 855-864, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000089

Abstract Space payloads which installed on spacecraft such as satellites and airships are usually experienced random vibrations and low-frequency sinusoidal vibrations during launching. In this paper, a space payload cabinet is introduced, and the damping design is carried out by applying constrained viscoelastic damping layer to the surfaces of the cabinet to ensure that the space payloads can withstand the above-mentioned mechanical environmental conditions. A reliable connection between the space payload cabinet and the shaking table is achieved through the vibration test fixture. The basic requirements for the function and design of the vibration test fixture are presented. A method for… More >

Fixture Modifications for Effective Control of an Electrodynamic 3D-Shaker System

    Kurthan Kersch1,*, Elmar Woschke2

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.54, No.2, pp. 75-84, 2020, DOI:10.32604/sv.2020.08909

Abstract This work aims to improve the setup of an electrodynamic triaxial shaker prototype with respect to its usability for the automotive industry. Triaxial shakers being capable of meeting the corresponding requirements are not available as standard test equipment. Modifications on the fixture have to be conducted in order to ensure an effective control. The first part of the work is the qualitative description of the system behavior. Therefore, the shaker is treated as a black box. The second part is the modification of the test fixture in order to handle the resonances of the shaker, which is elementary for its… More >
