    G. S. Setha,*, P. K. Mandala, A. J. Chamkhab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.7, pp. 1-12, 2016, DOI:10.5098/hmt.7.23

Abstract A theoretical investigation of unsteady hydromagnetic free convection flow with heat and mass transfer of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting, optically thick radiating and chemically reactive fluid near an impulsively moving vertical plate with ramped heat flux through fluid saturated porous medium in the presence of inclined magnetic field is carried out. Exact solutions of the governing equations for fluid velocity, fluid temperature and species concentration are obtained by Laplace transform technique. The expressions for the skin-friction, rate of mass transfer at the plate and plate temperature are also derived. Numerical results for fluid velocity, fluid temperature and species concentration… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.7, pp. 1-11, 2016, DOI:10.5098/hmt.7.28

Abstract The present analysis is focused on free convective heat and mass transfer characteristics of magneto-nanofluid flow through a moving vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation and thermal diffusion. The water-based nanofluid containing copper is taken into consideration. A uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plate. The governing equations are solved by applying finite difference method. Numerical results of the fluid velocity, temperature, concentration, shear stress, rate of heat transfer and rate of mass transfer are presented graphically for different values of the physical parameters encountered in the problem. It is noticed that the fluid velocity increases… More >

    R. Srinivasa Rajua,*, G. Jithender Reddyb , G. Anithaa

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-12, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.27

Abstract In the present study, consider an influence of chemical reaction on an unsteady MHD free convective, viscous dissipative Casson fluid flow over a vertically inclined plate in presence of magnetic field, heat and mass transfer. The modeling equations are converted to dimensionless equations, then solved through finite element technique. Computations were performed to analyze the behavior of fluid velocity, temperature, concentration and induced magnetic field on the inclined vertical plate with the variation of emerging physical parameters. Compared the present results with earlier reported studies for correctness and applicability of finite element technique. This model may be useful in view… More >

Zoubair Boulahia* , Abderrahim Wakif, Rachid Sehaqui

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-10, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.14

Abstract In the present work, natural convection heat transfer of Cu-water nanofluid inside a wavy wall enclosure is investigated numerically by using the finite volume discretization method. The study examines the effect of the nanoparticle volume fraction, the Rayleigh number, the wave amplitude, and the undulations number on the heat transfer rate. The results show that the heat transfer rate inside the wavy enclosure enhances by decreasing the wavy surface amplitude and increasing undulations number. It is also found that by increasing the volume fraction of nanoparticles and Rayleigh number, the heat transfer rate increases. More >

FREE CONVECTIVE HEAT TRANSFER OF MHD DISSIPATIVE CARREAU NANOFLUID FLOW OVER A STRETCHING SHEET

    M. Sathish Kumar, N. Sandeep* , B. Rushi Kumar

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.13

Abstract Nowadays external magnetic fields are capable of setting the thermal and physical properties of magnetic-nanofluids and regulate the flow and heat transfer characteristics. The strength of the applied magnetic field affects the thermal conductivity of magnetic nanofluids and makes it aeolotropic. With this incentive, we investigate the flow and heat transfer of electrically conducting liquid film flow of Carreau nanofluid over a stretching sheet by considering the aligned magnetic field in the presence of space and temperature dependent heat source/sink and viscous dissipation. For this study, we considered kerosene as the base fluid embedded with the silver (Ag) and copper… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.9

Abstract A study has been carried out to analyse an unsteady free convective chemically reacting, MHD Visco-elastic fluid (Walter’s liquid-B model) flow past an infinite vertical plate in the presence of thermal radiation with uniform temperature and species diffusion. The dimensionless governing partial differential equations are solved by using Laplace transform technique. The effects of different physical parameters like visco-elastic parameter, chemical reaction parameter, Magnetic field parameter, thermal Grashof number, mass Grashof number and time are discussed by plotting the velocity profiles for both cooling  (Gr >0, Gm > 0) and heating of the plate (Gr < 0, Gm <… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-8, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.1

Abstract An analysis is performed to investigate the effects of Joule heating and thermal diffusion on unsteady, viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting MHD heat and mass transfer free convection Casson fluid flow past an oscillating semi-infinite vertical moving porous plate in the presence of heat source/sink and an applied transverse magnetic field. Initially it is assumed that the plate and surrounding fluid at the same temperature and concentration at all the points in stationary condition in the entire flow region. Thereafter a constant temperature is given to the plate hence the buoyancy effect is supporting the fluid to move in upward direction… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-7, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.13

Abstract In this work, the steady natural convective boundary layer flow of nanofluid and heat transfer over a stretching sheet in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field is investigated. We consider two different base fluids and three different nanoparticles were examined as nanofluid. A new model was used in the simulation of nanofluid. Similarity transformations are used to obtain a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The resulting equations are solved numerically by shooting method with Runge-Kutta fourth order scheme (MATLAB package). The effects of various parameters describing the transport in the presence of thermal radiation, buoyancy parameter, magnetic… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.9, pp. 1-6, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.9.10

Abstract An analysis is presented to analyze the momentum and heat transfer behaviour of the laminar wall jet flow of a hydromagnetic flow due to plate with nonlinear thermal radiation and convective boundary condition. The governing Partial differential equations are converted as ordinary differential equations with the aid of similarity transformation. The effect of various pertinent parameters on momentum and temperature fields along with the local Nusselt number is discussed with the help of numerical and graphical illustrations. It is found that the Biotnumbereffectively enhances the heat transfer rate. More >
