Deep Embedded Fuzzy Clustering Model for Collaborative Filtering Recommender System

    Adel Binbusayyis*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 501-513, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022239

Abstract The increasing user of Internet has witnessed a continued exploration in applications and services that can bring more convenience in people's life than ever before. At the same time, with the exploration of online services, the people face unprecedented difficulty in selecting the most relevant service on the fly. In this context, the need for recommendation system is of paramount importance especially in helping the users to improve their experience with best value-added service. But, most of the traditional techniques including collaborative filtering (CF) which is one of the most successful recommendation technique suffer from two inherent issues namely, rating… More >

A Shadowed Rough-fuzzy Clustering Algorithm Based on Mahalanobis Distance for Intrusion Detection

    Lina Wang1,2,*, Jie Wang3, Yongjun Ren4, Zimeng Xing1, Tao Li1, Jinyue Xia5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.1, pp. 31-47, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.018577

Abstract Intrusion detection has been widely used in many application domains; thus, it has caught significant attention in academic fields these years. Assembled with more and more sub-systems, the network is more vulnerable to multiple attacks aiming at the network security. Compared with the other issues such as complex environment and resources-constrained devices, network security has been the biggest challenge for Internet construction. To deal with this problem, a fundamental measure for safeguarding network security is to select an intrusion detection algorithm. As is known, it is less effective to determine the abnormal behavior as an intrusion and learn the entire… More >

A User-Transformer Relation Identification Method Based on QPSO and Kernel Fuzzy Clustering

    Yong Xiao1, Xin Jin1, Jingfeng Yang2, Yanhua Shen3,*, Quansheng Guan4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.3, pp. 1293-1313, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.012562

Abstract User-transformer relations are significant to electric power marketing, power supply safety, and line loss calculations. To get accurate user-transformer relations, this paper proposes an identification method for user-transformer relations based on improved quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) and Fuzzy C-Means Clustering. The main idea is: as energy meters at different transformer areas exhibit different zero-crossing shift features, we classify the zero-crossing shift data from energy meters through Fuzzy C-Means Clustering and compare it with that at the transformer end to identify user-transformer relations. The proposed method contributes in three main ways. First, based on the fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm (FCM),… More >

    Yixuan Wang1, Liping Yuan2,3, Harish Garg4, Ali Bagherinia5, Parvïn Hamïd6,7,8,*, Kim-Hung Pho9, Zulkefli Mansor10

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.1, pp. 369-392, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012850

Abstract In order to improve performance and robustness of clustering, it is proposed to generate and aggregate a number of primary clusters via clustering ensemble technique. Fuzzy clustering ensemble approaches attempt to improve the performance of fuzzy clustering tasks. However, in these approaches, cluster (or clustering) reliability has not paid much attention to. Ignoring cluster (or clustering) reliability makes these approaches weak in dealing with low-quality base clustering methods. In this paper, we have utilized cluster unreliability estimation and local weighting strategy to propose a new fuzzy clustering ensemble method which has introduced Reliability Based weighted co-association matrix Fuzzy C-Means (RBFCM),… More >

An Improved Crow Search Based Intuitionistic Fuzzy Clustering Algorithm for Healthcare Applications

Parvathavarthini S1,*, Karthikeyani Visalakshi N2, Shanthi S3, Madhan Mohan J4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 253-260, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000155

Abstract Intuitionistic fuzzy clustering allows the uncertainties in data to be represented more precisely. Medical data usually possess a high degree of uncertainty and serve as the right candidate to be represented as Intuitionistic fuzzy sets. However, the selection of initial centroids plays a crucial role in determining the resulting cluster structure. Crow search algorithm is hybridized with Intuitionistic fuzzy C-means to attain better results than the existing hybrid algorithms. Still, the performance of the algorithm needs improvement with respect to the objective function and cluster indices especially with internal indices. In order to address these issues, the crow search algorithm… More >

A New Time-Aware Collaborative Filtering Intelligent Recommendation System

    Weijin Jiang1,2,3, Jiahui Chen1,*, Yirong Jiang4,*, Yuhui Xu1, Yang Wang1, Lina Tan1, Guo Liang5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.61, No.2, pp. 849-859, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05932

Abstract Aiming at the problem that the traditional collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm does not fully consider the influence of correlation between projects on recommendation accuracy, this paper introduces project attribute fuzzy matrix, measures the project relevance through fuzzy clustering method, and classifies all project attributes. Then, the weight of the project relevance is introduced in the user similarity calculation, so that the nearest neighbor search is more accurate. In the prediction scoring section, considering the change of user interest with time, it is proposed to use the time weighting function to improve the influence of the time effect of the evaluation,… More >

RAIM Algorithm Based on Fuzzy Clustering Analysis

    Shouzhou Gu1,*, Jinzhong Bei1, Chuang Shi2, Yaming Dang1, Zuoya Zheng4, Congcong Cui5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 281-293, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.04421

Abstract With the development of various navigation systems (such as GLONASS, Galileo, BDS), there is a sharp increase in the number of visible satellites. Accordingly, the probability of multiply gross measurements will increase. However, the conventional RAIM methods are difficult to meet the demands of the navigation system. In order to solve the problem of checking and identify multiple gross errors of receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM), this paper designed full matrix of single point positioning by QR decomposition, and proposed a new RAIM algorithm based on fuzzy clustering analysis with fuzzy c-means (FCM). And on the condition of single or… More >

Enrichment Procedures for Soft Clusters: A Statistical Test and its Applications

    R.D. Phillips1, M.S. Hossain1, L.T. Watson1,2, R.H. Wynne3, Naren Ramakrishnan1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.97, No.2, pp. 175-197, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.097.175

Abstract Clusters, typically mined by modeling locality of attribute spaces, are often evaluated for their ability to demonstrate ‘enrichment’ of categorical features. A cluster enrichment procedure evaluates the membership of a cluster for significant representation in predefined categories of interest. While classical enrichment procedures assume a hard clustering definition, this paper introduces a new statistical test that computes enrichments for soft clusters. Application of the new test to several scientific datasets is given. More >
