Abstract The cell activity of adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) is affected by the intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the level of autophagy. Previous studies reveal that acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) possesses capacities of resisting oxidative stress and regulating autophagy. Activating molecule in Beclin1-regulated autophagy protein 1 (AMBRA1) plays a key role in initiating Beclin1-regulated autophagy. In the present study, we discovered ALC pretreatment (1 mM, 24 h) significantly increased the activity of ADSCs exposed to H2O2 (100 μM, 2 h) in vitro with improved stemness, and reduced the production of intracellular ROS. In addition, we found for the More >

Comparative Thermal Performance in SiO2–H2O and (MoS2–SiO2)–H2O Over a Curved Stretching Semi-Infinite Region: A Numerical Investigation

    Basharat Ullah1, Umar Khan1, Hafiz Abdul Wahab1, Ilyas Khan2,*, Dumitru Baleanu3,4,5, Kottakkaran Sooppy Nisar6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 947-960, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012430 - 30 October 2020

Abstract The investigation of Thermal performance in nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids over a curved stretching infinite region strengthens its roots in engineering and industry. Therefore, the comparative thermal analysis in SiO2–H2O and (MoS2–SiO2)–H2O is conducted over curved stretching surface. The model is reduced in the dimensional version via similarity transformation and then treated numerically. The velocity and thermal behavior for both the fluids is decorated against the preeminent parameters. From the analysis, it is examined that the motion of under consideration fluids declines against Fr and λ. The thermal performance enhances for higher volumetric fraction and λ. More >

Sub-Surface Drip Irrigation in Associated with H2O2 Improved the Productivity of Maize under Clay-Rich Soil of Adana, Turkey

    Alhan Sariyev1, Celaleddin Barutcular2,*, Mert Acar1, Akbar Hossain3, Ayman EL Sabagh2,4,5,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.89, No.3, pp. 519-528, 2020, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2020.09142 - 22 June 2020

Abstract Maize being sub-tropical crop is sensitive to water deficit during the early growth stages; particularly clay-rich soil, due to the compaction of the soil. It is well-documented that potential sub-surface drip irrigation (SDI) (Full irrigation; SDIFull (100% field capacity (FC)), Deficit irrigation; SDIDeficit (70% FC)) improves water use efficiency, which leads to increased crop productivity; since it has a constraint that SDI excludes soil air around the root-zone during irrigation events, which alter the root function and crop performance. Additionally, in clayrich soils, the root system of plants generally suffers the limitation of oxygen, particularly… More >

A Controlled Conditions of Dynamic Cold Storage Using Nano fluid as PCM

    Bin Liu1, Zhaodan Yang1, Yahui Wang1, Rachid Bennacer1,2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.13, No.1, pp. 37-47, 2017, DOI:10.3970/fdmp.2017.013.037

Abstract The dynamic thermal history of storage product system is related to the insulation and also to the inertia. Use a new porous media doped with nanofluid PCM to improve the system efficiency. The analysis of the porous sponge thickness with 8 mm, 16 mm and 20 mm, the integrated nanofluids with 0.1%, 0.15% and 0.2%, the mass of the PCM and the initial temperature of the stored product with -1°C, 4°C, 12°C is achieved in order to underline the advantages of the new saturated porous media (sponges) with the phase change material (PCM) /Al2O3-H2O nanofluid. Impact of selenium fertilization on the activity of detoxifying enzymes of H2O2 in bean plants

    Hermosillo-Cereceres MA1, E Sánchez1, E Muñoz-Márquez1, A Guevara-Aguilar1, M García-Bañuelos1, D Ojeda-Barrios2

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.83, pp. 347-352, 2014, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2014.83.347

Abstract Selenium (Se) is an essential element for many organisms, although in high concentrations it may become toxic, leading to the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). In this study, bean plants received different application rates of Se (0, 10, 20, 40, 80, and 160 µM) in the form of selenite and selenate to evaluate the activity of the detoxifying enzymes of H2O2. The results indicated that the activity of these enzymes in bean plants depended on the chemical form of Se: selenite at rates of 20 µM or greater diminished biomass and yield, increasing the activity More >
