Contributions of Remote Sensing and GIS to the Inventory and Mapping of Colonial Geodetic Markers in the Katangese Copper Belt

John Tshibangu Wa Ilunga1,*, Donatien Kamutanda Kalombo1, Olivier Ngoie Inabanza1, Dikumbwa N’landu1,2, Joseph Mukalay Muamba1,3, Patrice Amisi Mwana1, Urcel Kalenga Tshingomba1, Junior Muyumba Munganga1, Catherine Nsiami Mabiala1

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.33, pp. 15-35, 2024, DOI:10.32604/rig.2024.046629

Abstract The mutation of spaces observed in the Katangese Copper Belt (KCB) causes significant topographical changes. Some colonial geodetic markers are easily noticeable on many of the hills making up the KCB. These hills are subject to mining which ruins the completeness of the network of triangulations: geometric and trigonometric Katangese. In order to keep control of the latter, the study shows on the one hand the possibility of using SRTM data (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) in the monitoring of the macro-change of the reliefs, from 442 positions, and on the other hand, an indirect (remote) inventory method of the existing… More >

Preliminary Life Cycle Inventory of Rapeseed Oil Polyols for Polyurethane Production

    Anda Fridrihsone-Girone

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.3, No.1, pp. 28-33, 2015, DOI:10.7569/JRM.2014.634136

Abstract This study assesses present preliminary Life Cycle Inventory for rapeseed oil polyols suitable for the production of polyurethane, which is one of the most widely used polymer materials. Due to growing environmental problems, the polyurethane industry is seeking bio-based raw materials. A study was carried out for rapeseed oil triethanolamine polyol developed at Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry. The cradle-to-gate study was carried out with functional unit of 1 kg rapeseed oil polyol synthesized in a scaled-up pilot reactor. The results show that at the midpoint level the production of rapeseed oil has the highest impact in the following… More >

Analysis of Inventory Model for Quadratic Demand with Three Levels of Production

    Dharamender Singh1, Majed G. Alharbi2, Anurag Jayswal1, Ali Akbar Shaikh3,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 167-182, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021815

Abstract The inventory framework is one of the standards of activity research fundamentals in ventures and business endeavors. Production planning includes all building production plans, including organizing and appointing exercises to every individual, gathering individuals or machines, and mastering work orders in every work environment. Production booking should take care of all issues, for example, limiting client standby time and production time; and viably utilizing the undertaking’s HR. This paper considered three degrees of a production inventory model for a consistent deterioration rate. This model assumes a significant part in the production of the board and assembling units. Request rate is… More >

Ordering Cost Depletion in Inventory Policy with Imperfect Products and Backorder Rebate

    Sandeep Kumar1, Teekam Singh1,2, Kamaleldin Abodayeh3, Wasfi Shatanawi3,4,5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 2343-2357, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014224

Abstract This study presents an inventory model for imperfect products with depletion in ordering costs and constant lead time where the price discount in the backorder is permitted. The imperfect products are refused or modified or if they reached to the customer, returned and thus some extra costs are experienced. Lately some of the researchers explicitly present on the significant association between size of lot and quality imperfection. In practical situations, the unsatisfied demands increase the period of lead time and decrease the backorders. To control customers' problems and losses, the supplier provides a price discount in backorders during shortages. Also,… More >

Modeling of a Fuzzy Expert System for Choosing an Appropriate Supply Chain Collaboration Strategy

    Kazim Sari

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 405-412, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2017.1352258

Abstract Nowadays, there has been a great interest for business enterprises to work together or collaborate in the supply chain. It is thus possible for them to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace. However, determining the right collaboration strategy is not an easy task. Namely, there are several factors that need to be considered at the same time. In this regard, an expert system based on fuzzy rules is proposed to choose an appropriate collaboration strategy for a given supply chain. To this end, firstly, the factors that are significant for supply chain collaboration are extracted via an extensive review… More >

Multi-Objective Optimization of Slow Moving Inventory System Using Cuckoo Search

    Achin Srivastav, Sunil Agrawal

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 343-350, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2017.1293891

Abstract This paper focuses on the development of a multi-objective lot size–reorder point backorder inventory model for a slow moving item. The three objectives are the minimization of (1) the total annual relevant cost, (2) the expected number of stocked out units incurred annually and (3) the expected frequency of stockout occasions annually. Laplace distribution is used to model the variability of lead time demand. The multi-objective Cuckoo Search (MOCS) algorithm is proposed to solve the model. Pareto curves are generated between cost and service levels for decision-makers. A numerical problem is considered on a slow moving item to illustrate the… More >

Inventory of fruit species and ethnobotanical aspects in Sultepec, Mexico State, Mexico

    Rubí-Arriaga M, A González-Huerta, I Martínez-De La Cruz, O Franco-Mora, JF Ramírez-Dávila, JA López-Sandoval, GV Hernández-Flores

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.83, pp. 203-211, 2014, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2014.83.203

Abstract Sultepec, State of Mexico, located on the central part of Mexico, belongs to the Physiographic province “Sierra Madre del Sur” and to the Subprovince “Depresión del Balsas”. Although it is known for its floristic richness, it lacks an inventory of vascular plants, including the fruit species. The aim of this work was to elaborate a database including family, scientific name, local name, biological form, origin, use, management, production and service of the fruit species. Plants were collected continuously from June 2010 to June 2011. Subsequently, they were determined in the herbarium “Eizi Matuda” (CODAGEM) from the Facultad de Ciencias Agrícolas… More >

    Guadarrama-Martínez N1, M Rubí-Arriaga1, A González-Huerta1, LM Vázquez-García2, I Martínez-De La Cruz1, JA López-Sandoval1, GV Hernández-Flores1

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.81, pp. 221-228, 2012, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2012.81.221

Abstract The southeast region of the “Estado de México” is a transitional floristic zone. The municipalities which constitute are: “Tenancingo”, “Villa Guerrero”, “Malinalco”, “Zumpahuacán”, “Ixtapán de la Sal”, “Tonatico”, “Coatepec Harinas”, “Almoloya de Alquisiras” and “Texcaltitlan”. They present wood of Pinus, wood of Abies, wood of Quercus, mountainous mesophyll wood and deciduous rainforest as the main kind of vegetation. Our objective was to obtain a list of trees and bushes, which can have a potential ornamental use, in the southeast of that state. The botanical material was gathered with the conventional techniques during bimonthly trips to the studied area from June… More >
