    Distribution, Ecology and Invasion Potential of Sorghum halepense (Poaceae) in the Insubric Region (Northern Italy and Southern Switzerland)

    Abstract Sorghum halepense (L.) Pers. (Johnson grass, Poaceae) is a worldwide problematic alien species, rapidly expanding its alien range in Europe. This study reconstructed the spread history, and assessed the current distribution, ecological traits, and invasion potential of this species in the Insubric region of northern Italy and southern Switzerland. Herbarium and occurrence data showed that its spread began in the late 19th century and has accelerated recently in the foothill zone, progressing northward and upward.     Abstract Current energy systems are increasingly complex, considering multi-energy systems, the integration of non-programmable renewable energy sources, and the simultaneous evaluation of multiple evaluation objectives (i.e., costs vs carbon dioxide emissions). This complexity opens the opportunity to explore optimization algorithms as assistance for systematic and automatic management of energy systems.     Abstract Objectives: In 2019, the Insititue for Health Metrics and Evaluation reported that 16% of life lost were attributed to mental health.     COVID-19 vaccine related hypermetabolic lymph nodes on PET/CT: Implications of inflammatory findings in cancer imaging

    Abstract We observed several patients presenting 2-[18F]FDG uptake in the reactive axillary lymph node at PET/CT imaging, ipsilateral to the site of the COVID-19 vaccine injection. Analog finding was documented at [18F]Choline PET/CT. The aim of our study was to describe this source of false positive cases. All patients examined by PET/CT were included in the study. Data concerning patient anamnesis, laterality, and time interval from recent COVID-19 vaccination were recorded. SUVmax was measured in all lymph nodes expressing tracer uptake after vaccination.     Abstract We have proposed a new mathematical method, the SEIHCRD model, which has an excellent potential to predict the incidence of COVID-19 diseases. Our proposed SEIHCRD model is an extension of the SEIR model. Three-compartments have added death, hospitalized, and critical, which improves the basic understanding of disease spread and results.
