QDCT Encoding-Based Retrieval for Encrypted JPEG Images

    Qiuju Ji1, Peipeng Yu1, Zhihua Xia1, *

    Journal on Big Data, Vol.2, No.1, pp. 33-51, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jbd.2020.01004

Abstract Aprivacy-preserving search model for JPEG images is proposed in paper, which uses the bag-of-encrypted-words based on QDCT (Quaternion Discrete Cosine Transform) encoding. The JPEG image is obtained by a series of steps such as DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) transformation, quantization, entropy coding, etc. In this paper, we firstly transform the images from spatial domain into quaternion domain. By analyzing the algebraic relationship between QDCT and DCT, a QDCT quantization table and QDTC coding for color images are proposed. Then the compressed image data is encrypted after the steps of block permutation, intra-block permutation, single table substitution and stream cipher. At… More >

Anti-JPEG Compression Steganography Based on the High Tense Region Locating Method

    Yang Wu1, Weiping Shang2,*, Jiahao Chen3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.1, pp. 199-214, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05194

Abstract Robust data hiding techniques attempt to construct covert communication in a lossy public channel. Nowadays, the existing robust JPEG steganographic algorithms cannot overcome the side-information missing situation. Thus, this paper proposes a new robust JPEG steganographic algorithm based on the high tense region location method which needs no side-information of lossy channel. First, a tense region locating method is proposed based on the Harris-Laplacian feature point. Then, robust cover object generating processes are described. Last, the advanced embedding cost function is proposed. A series of experiments are conducted on various JPEG image sets and the results show that the proposed… More >

Improved Lossless Data Hiding for JPEG Images Based on Histogram Modification

    Yang Du1, Zhaoxia Yin1,2,*, Xinpeng Zhang3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 495-507, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.02440

Abstract This paper proposes a lossless and high payload data hiding scheme for JPEG images by histogram modification. The most in JPEG bitstream consists of a sequence of VLCs (variable length codes) and the appended bits. Each VLC has a corresponding RLV (run/length value) to record the AC/DC coefficients. To achieve lossless data hiding with high payload, we shift the histogram of VLCs and modify the DHT segment to embed data. Since we sort the histogram of VLCs in descending order, the filesize expansion is limited. The paper’s key contribution includes: Lossless data hiding, less filesize expansion in identical pay-load and… More >
