Heterophilic Graph Neural Network Based on Spatial and Frequency Domain Adaptive Embedding Mechanism

Lanze Zhang, Yijun Gu*, Jingjie Peng

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1701-1731, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.045129 - 29 January 2024

Abstract Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) play a significant role in tasks related to homophilic graphs. Traditional GNNs, based on the assumption of homophily, employ low-pass filters for neighboring nodes to achieve information aggregation and embedding. However, in heterophilic graphs, nodes from different categories often establish connections, while nodes of the same category are located further apart in the graph topology. This characteristic poses challenges to traditional GNNs, leading to issues of “distant node modeling deficiency” and “failure of the homophily assumption”. In response, this paper introduces the Spatial-Frequency domain Adaptive Heterophilic Graph Neural Networks (SFA-HGNN), which… More >

Influence of Brownian Motion, Thermophoresis and Magnetic Effects on a Fluid Containing Nanoparticles Flowing over a Stretchable Cylinder

    Aaqib Majeed1,*, Ahmad Zeeshan2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 525-536, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.028716 - 12 January 2024

Abstract The influence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis on a fluid containing nanoparticles flowing over a stretchable cylinder is examined. The classical Navier-Stokes equations are considered in a porous frame. In addition, the Lorentz force is taken into account. The controlling coupled nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into a system of first order ordinary differential equations by means of a similarity transformation. The resulting system of equations is solved by employing a shooting approach properly implemented in MATLAB. The evolution of the boundary layer and the growing velocity is shown graphically together with the related More >

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.40, No.1-2, pp. 33-45, 2023, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2023.40.1-2.3

Abstract Leather manufacturing process involves a lot of waste disposal which pollutes environment, some of the processes are inevitable. In the present investigation, 3D printing technology was used to reduce the wastage and to cover defective regions in leather. The present study focuses on synthesis of acrylic binder using emulsion polymerization technique. These binders were analysed for solid content for better optimisation of the amount of binder to be utilised for finishing operation. The experimental binder was prepared with 26% solids. Particle size and thermogravimetric analyses were carried out to understand the size and shape of… More >

Optimization of CNC Turning Machining Parameters Based on Bp-DWMOPSO Algorithm

Jiang Li, Jiutao Zhao, Qinhui Liu*, Laizheng Zhu, Jinyi Guo, Weijiu Zhang

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 223-244, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042429 - 31 October 2023

Abstract Cutting parameters have a significant impact on the machining effect. In order to reduce the machining time and improve the machining quality, this paper proposes an optimization algorithm based on Bp neural network-Improved Multi-Objective Particle Swarm (Bp-DWMOPSO). Firstly, this paper analyzes the existing problems in the traditional multi-objective particle swarm algorithm. Secondly, the Bp neural network model and the dynamic weight multi-objective particle swarm algorithm model are established. Finally, the Bp-DWMOPSO algorithm is designed based on the established models. In order to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm, this paper obtains the required data through More >

A Coupled Peridynamics Model for the Ablation and Plastic Fracture Simulation of Reactor Pressure Vessels

    Yonggang Zheng1,*, Hanbo Zhang1, Jingyan Li1, Hui Li2, Hongfei Ye1, Hongwu Zhang1

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.1, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.010050

Abstract The reactor pressure vessels (RPV), a typical kind of axisymmetric structures, usually serve under high temperature and pressure conditions. The numerical analysis of the mechanical behaviors of these structures plays a dominant role for their structural design, advanced manufacture and safety assessment in practical engineering applications[1-2]. However, the extremely conditions bring great challenges for the numerical analysis of structures undergo ablation, plastic, damage and even fracture during an accident[3]. Based on the superior performance of peridynamics model in predicting fracture behaviors [4-7], a coupled axisymmetric non-ordinary state-based peridynamics (CA-NOSB-PD) model is proposed in this work… More >

Abstract This study aims to investigate the phenomenon of technological gadget usage among pre-university students, which include the time spent using them, as well as their purpose and influence. A descriptive research design was adopted in this study. 131 pre-university students were randomly selected to answer a structured questionnaire. They were informed two weeks earlier to keep track on their time spent on technological devices, before answering the questionnaire. Findings showed that 99.2% of the respondents owned at least two technological gadgets, and all respondents own a smartphone. The main two gadgets that respondents spend at… More > Graphic Abstract

    Sibel Day*, Nilüfer Koçak-Şahin

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.8, pp. 2461-2471, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029920 - 25 June 2023

Abstract Aromatic and medicinal plant species having small seeds have field emergence problems due to low nutrient supply. Therefore, Pimpinella anisum seeds were hydro and osmoprimed with 100 mM MgCl2, CaCl2, and ZnCl2, for 2, 4, and 8 h each to compare their growth attributes during germination and seedling establishment stages. Nontreated seeds were used as control. Both hydro and osmo primed seeds were dried for 48 h before, they were sown in plastic trays in growth room conditions to see the impact of treatments on seedling emergence and growth. The maximum root length (12.90 cm), fresh weight (256.30… More >

Abstract Salt stress is one of the major limitations to modern agriculture that negatively influences plant growth and productivity. Salt tolerant cultivar can provide excellent solution to enhance stress tolerance with plant fitness to unfavorable environments. Therefore, this study was aimed to screen salt tolerant sorghum genotypes through evaluating of different morphological, biochemical, and physiological attributes in response to salinity stress. In this study, we have been evaluated total six sorghum genotypes including Hybrid sorgo, Debgiri, BD-703, BD-706, BD-707, and BD-725 under salt stress (12 dS m−1 NaCl). The response variables included length and weight of root… More >

Abstract Background: With the development of information technology, mobile phone has brought much convenience to people’s lives but also caused many negative consequences due to excessive use, such as mobile phone addiction and nomophobia. Previous studies have explored the relationship between the Big Five Personality and problematic mobile phone use (PMPU). However, they focus on mobile phone addiction. Although there is a correlation between nomophobia and mobile phone addiction, the psychological structure is different. Therefore, it is necessary to explore the relationship between personality and nomophobia and the underlying mechanism. This study aims to examine the relationship… More > Graphic Abstract
