    Kittipol Wisaeng*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2569-2586, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033226 - 21 December 2022

Abstract In recent days, detecting Optic Disc (OD) in retinal images has been challenging and very important to the early diagnosis of eye diseases. The process of detecting the OD is challenging due to the diversity of color, intensity, brightness and shape of the OD. Moreover, the color similarities of the neighboring organs of the OD create difficulties during OD detection. In the proposed Fuzzy K‒Means Threshold (FKMT) and Morphological Operation with Pixel Density Feature (MOPDF), the input retinal images are coarsely segmented by fuzzy K‒means clustering and thresholding, in which the OD is classified from… More >

Abstract Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) starch is considered an important renewable, biodegradable, and eco-friendly polymer, which is derived from agricultural by-products and residues, with great potential for the development of biocomposite materials. This research was aimed at investigating the development of TPS biocomposites from A. pinnata palm starch using an extrusion process. Palm starch, glycerol, and stearic acid were extruded in a twin-screw extruder. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis of TPS showed that the starch granules were damaged and gelatinized in the extrusion process. The density of TPS was 1.3695 g/mL, lower than that of palm starch, and… More > Graphic Abstract

    S. Mohammed Ibrahim1, P. Vijaya Kumar2, G. Lorenzini3,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.4, pp. 855-868, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.019796 - 02 November 2022

Abstract In this study, a radiative MHD stagnation point flow over a nonlinear stretching sheet incorporating thermophoresis and Brownian motion is considered. Using a similarity method to reshape the underlying Partial differential equations into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), the implications of heat generation, and chemical reaction on the flow field are described in detail. Moreover a Homotopy analysis method (HAM) is used to interpret the related mechanisms. It is found that an increase in the magnetic and velocity exponent parameters can damp the fluid velocity, while thermophoresis and Brownian motion promote specific thermal More >

THERMOPHORESIS IMPACT ON A MICROPOLAR FLUID UNDER CHANGEABLE HEAT FLUX IN CONDUCTING FIELD

    P. Chandra Reddya, B. Hari Babub,*, K. Sreenivasuluc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-5, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.27

Abstract This examination carried out on thermophoresis impact on a micropolar fluid under heat flux which is not changeable in conducting field. The flow past a vertical porous plate is taken with the influence of thermal radiation and diffusion simultaneously. The flow governed non linear partial differential equations in this model are distorted to a structure of non-linear ordinary ones through fitting corresponding transformations and later solved by Runge–Kutta Fourth order with shooting technique method. The effects of selected corporal parameters on the dimensionless velocity, microrotation and temperature profiles are examined and handled graphically. Lastly, numerical More >

Abstract Automobile power windows are mechanisms that can be opened and shut with the press of a button. Although these windows can comfort the effort of occupancy to move the window, failure to recognize the person's body part at the right time will result in damage and in some cases, loss of that part. An anti-pinch mechanism is an excellent choice to solve this problem, which detects the obstacle in the glass path immediately and moves it down. In this paper, an optimal solution is presented for fault detection of the anti-pinch window system. The anti-pinch… More >
