Autonomous Exploration Based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making and Using D* Lite Algorithm

    Novak Zagradjanin1,*, Dragan Pamucar2, Kosta Jovanovic1, Nikola Knezevic1, Bojan Pavkovic3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1369-1386, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021979 - 09 December 2021

Abstract An autonomous robot is often in a situation to perform tasks or missions in an initially unknown environment. A logical approach to doing this implies discovering the environment by the incremental principle defined by the applied exploration strategy. A large number of exploration strategies apply the technique of selecting the next robot position between candidate locations on the frontier between the unknown and the known parts of the environment using the function that combines different criteria. The exploration strategies based on Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) using the standard SAW, COPRAS and TOPSIS methods are presented in… More >

Analysis of Critical Factors in Manufacturing by Adopting a Cloud Computing Service

    Hsin-Pin Fu1,*, Tsung-Sheng Chang2, Chien-Hung Liu3, Li-Chun Liu1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.42, No.1, pp. 213-227, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.021767 - 02 December 2021

Abstract The advantages of a cloud computing service are cost advantages, availability, scalability, flexibility, reduced time to market, and dynamic access to computing resources. Enterprises can improve the successful adoption rate of cloud computing services if they understand the critical factors. To find critical factors, this study first reviewed the literature and established a three-layer hierarchical factor table for adopting a cloud computing service based on the Technology-Organization-Environment framework. Then, a hybrid method that combines two multi-criteria decision-making tools—called the Fuzzy Analytic Network Process method and the concept of VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje acceptable advantage—was More >

Multi-Attribute Selection Procedures Based on Regret and Rejoice for the Decision-Maker

Hanan Abdullah Mengash*, Manel Farouk Ayadi

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 2777-2795, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.015434 - 27 September 2021

Abstract Feelings influence human beings’ decision-making; therefore, incorporation of feeling factors in decision-making is very important. Regret and rejoice are very important emotional feelings that can have a great impact on decision-making if they are considered together. While regret has received most of the attention in related research, rejoice has been less considered even though it can greatly influence people’s preferences in decision-making. Furthermore, systematically incorporating regret and rejoice in the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) modeling frameworks for decision-making has received little research attention. In this paper, we introduce a new multi-attribute selection procedure that incorporates both… More >

Customer Prioritization for Medical Supply Chain During COVID-19 Pandemic

    Iram Mushtaq1, Muhammad Umer1, Muhammad Imran2, Inzamam Mashood Nasir3, Ghulam Muhammad4,*, Mohammad Shorfuzzaman5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.1, pp. 59-72, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019337 - 07 September 2021

Abstract During COVID-19, the escalated demand for various pharmaceutical products with the existing production capacity of pharmaceutical companies has stirred the need to prioritize its customers in order to fulfill their demand. This study considers a two-echelon pharmaceutical supply chain considering various pharma-distributors as its suppliers and hospitals, pharmacies, and retail stores as its customers. Previous studies have generally considered a balanced situation in terms of supply and demand whereas this study considers a special situation of COVID-19 pandemic where demand exceeds supply Various criteria have been identified from the literature that influences the selection of… More >

Evaluating and Ranking Mobile Learning Factors Using a Multi-criterion Decision-making (MCDM) Approach

    Quadri Noorulhasan Naveed1, Ali M. Aseere1, AbdulHafeez Muhammad2, Saiful Islam3, Mohamed Rafik N. Qureshi3, Ansar Siddique4,*, Mohammad Rashid Hussain1, Samreen Shahwar5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 111-129, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.015009 - 12 May 2021

Abstract The escalating growth in digital technology is setting the stage for changes in university education, as E-learning brings students and faculties outside the contained classroom environment. While mobile learning is considered an emerging technology, there is comprehensive literature on mobile learning and its applications. However, there has been relatively little research on mobile learning recognition and readiness compared to mobile learning studies and implementations. The advent of mobile learning (M-learning) provides additional flexibility in terms of time and location. M-learning lacks an established place in university education. The influence of its critical success factors (CSFs)… More >

Optimal Selection of Hybrid Renewable Energy System Using Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Algorithms

    Hegazy Rezk1,2, Irik Z. Mukhametzyanov3, Mujahed Al-Dhaifallah4,*, Hamdy A. Ziedan5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.68, No.2, pp. 2001-2027, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.015895 - 13 April 2021

Abstract Several models of multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) have identified the optimal alternative electrical energy sources to supply certain load in an isolated region in Al-Minya City, Egypt. The load demand consists of water pumping system with a water desalination unit. Various options containing three different power sources: only DG, PV-B system, and hybrid PV-DG-B, two different sizes of reverse osmosis (RO) units; RO-250 and RO-500, two strategies of energy management; load following (LF) and cycle charging (CC), and two sizes of DG; 5 and 10 kW were taken into account. Eight attributes, including operating cost, renewable… More >
