    Weizhi Liao1, Xiaoyun Xia1,3, Xiaojun Jia1, Shigen Shen2,*, Helin Zhuang4,*, Xianchao Zhang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 3297-3323, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040967

Abstract As a new bionic algorithm, Spider Monkey Optimization (SMO) has been widely used in various complex optimization problems in recent years. However, the new space exploration power of SMO is limited and the diversity of the population in SMO is not abundant. Thus, this paper focuses on how to reconstruct SMO to improve its performance, and a novel spider monkey optimization algorithm with opposition-based learning and orthogonal experimental design (SMO3) is developed. A position updating method based on the historical optimal domain and particle swarm for Local Leader Phase (LLP) and Global Leader Phase (GLP) is presented to improve the… More >

An Improved Jump Spider Optimization for Network Traffic Identification Feature Selection

Hui Xu, Yalin Hu*, Weidong Cao, Longjie Han

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 3239-3255, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039227

Abstract The massive influx of traffic on the Internet has made the composition of web traffic increasingly complex. Traditional port-based or protocol-based network traffic identification methods are no longer suitable for today’s complex and changing networks. Recently, machine learning has been widely applied to network traffic recognition. Still, high-dimensional features and redundant data in network traffic can lead to slow convergence problems and low identification accuracy of network traffic recognition algorithms. Taking advantage of the faster optimization-seeking capability of the jumping spider optimization algorithm (JSOA), this paper proposes a jumping spider optimization algorithm that incorporates the harris hawk optimization (HHO) and… More >

Abstract New energy vehicles have better clean and environmental protection characteristics than traditional fuel vehicles. The new energy engine cooling technology is critical in the design of new energy vehicles. This paper used one-and three-way joint simulation methods to simulate the refrigeration system of new energy vehicles. Firstly, a k-ε turbulent flow model for the cooling pump flow field is established based on the principle of computational fluid dynamics. Then, the CFD commercial fluid analysis software FLUENT is used to simulate the flow field of the cooling pump under different inlet flow conditions. This paper proposes an optimization scheme for new… More > Graphic Abstract

Oscillations of Rapid Fracture in Phase Field Modeling

    Jun Zeng1, Fucheng Tian1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09636

Abstract Instability in dynamic fracture suppresses crack velocity from reaching theoretical limit predicted by the classical linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM). In thin systems, crack can accelerate to near the theoretical limiting velocity without micro-branching instability. A dynamic oscillatory instability is observed at such extreme crack speed. This sinusoidal oscillation was further found to be governed by intrinsic nonlinear scale. Using a dynamic phase-field model (PFM) with no attenuation of wave speed, we successfully reproduce the oscillations in the framework of non-linear deformation. The used PFM model based on Griffith's theory and derived from the nonconservative Lagrange's equation. To deal with… More >

Abstract Path planning is a prevalent process that helps mobile robots find the most efficient pathway from the starting position to the goal position to avoid collisions with obstacles. In this paper, we propose a novel path planning algorithm–Intermediary RRT*-PSO-by utilizing the exploring speed advantages of Rapidly exploring Random Trees and using its solution to feed to a metaheuristic-based optimizer, Particle swarm optimization (PSO), for fine-tuning and enhancement. In Phase 1, the start and goal trees are initialized at the starting and goal positions, respectively, and the intermediary tree is initialized at a random unexplored region of the search space. CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2427-2464, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028771

Abstract Various data sets showing the prevalence of numerous viral diseases have demonstrated that the transmission is not truly homogeneous. Two examples are the spread of Spanish flu and COVID-19. The aim of this research is to develop a comprehensive nonlinear stochastic model having six cohorts relying on ordinary differential equations via piecewise fractional differential operators. Firstly, the strength number of the deterministic case is carried out. Then, for the stochastic model, we show that there is a critical number that can predict virus persistence and infection eradication. Because of the peculiarity of this notion, an interesting way… More >

A Restricted SIR Model with Vaccination Effect for the Epidemic Outbreaks Concerning COVID-19

    Ibtehal Alazman1, Kholoud Saad Albalawi1, Pranay Goswami2,*, Kuldeep Malik2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2409-2425, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028674

Abstract This paper presents a restricted SIR mathematical model to analyze the evolution of a contagious infectious disease outbreak (COVID-19) using available data. The new model focuses on two main concepts: first, it can present multiple waves of the disease, and second, it analyzes how far an infection can be eradicated with the help of vaccination. The stability analysis of the equilibrium points for the suggested model is initially investigated by identifying the matching equilibrium points and examining their stability. The basic reproduction number is calculated, and the positivity of the solutions is established. Numerical simulations are performed to determine if… More >

On Fractional Differential Inclusion for an Epidemic Model via L-Fuzzy Fixed Point Results

    Maha Noorwali1, Mohammed Shehu Shagari2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1937-1956, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028239

Abstract The real world is filled with uncertainty, vagueness, and imprecision. The concepts we meet in everyday life are vague rather than precise. In real-world situations, if a model requires that conclusions drawn from it have some bearings on reality, then two major problems immediately arise, viz. real situations are not usually crisp and deterministic; complete descriptions of real systems often require more comprehensive data than human beings could recognize simultaneously, process and understand. Conventional mathematical tools which require all inferences to be exact, are not always efficient to handle imprecisions in a wide variety of practical situations. Following the latter… More >
