    Qi Zhuang1,*, Dong Liu2, Zhuo Chen3

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.3, pp. 821-834, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.044054

Abstract Oil and gas pipelines are affected by many factors, such as pipe wall thinning and pipeline rupture. Accurate prediction of failure pressure of oil and gas pipelines can provide technical support for pipeline safety management. Aiming at the shortcomings of the BP Neural Network (BPNN) model, such as low learning efficiency, sensitivity to initial weights, and easy falling into a local optimal state, an Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm (ISSA) is adopted to optimize the initial weights and thresholds of BPNN, and an ISSA-BPNN failure pressure prediction model for corroded pipelines is established. Taking 61 sets of pipelines blasting test data… More >

Zainab Ali Abbood1,2,*, Doğu Çağdaş Atilla3,4, Çağatay Aydin5

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 269-281, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.035276

Abstract Deep learning (DL) is a subdivision of machine learning (ML) that employs numerous algorithms, each of which provides various explanations of the data it consumes; mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) are growing in prominence. For reasons including node mobility, due to MANET’s potential to provide small-cost solutions for real-world contact challenges, decentralized management, and restricted bandwidth, MANETs are more vulnerable to security threats. When protecting MANETs from attack, encryption and authentication schemes have their limits. However, deep learning (DL) approaches in intrusion detection systems (IDS) can adapt to the changing environment of MANETs and allow a system to make intrusion decisions… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-7, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.8

Abstract A model for predicting wax deposition rate in pipeline transportation is constructed to predict wax deposition in actual pipeline, which can provide decision support for the flow guarantee of waxy crude oil in pipeline transportation. This paper analyzes the working principle of Back Propagation Neural Networks (BPNN). Aiming at the problems of BPNN model, such as over learning, long training time, low generalization ability and easy to fall into local minimum, the paper proposes an improved scheme of using Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) to optimize BPNN model(WOABPNN).Taking 38 groups of crude oil wax deposition experimental data in Huachi operation area… More >

PREDICTION MODEL OF LIQUID HOLDUP BASED ON SOA-BPNN ALGORITHM

Qi Zhuanga,* , Dong Liub, Bo Liuc, Mei Liua

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-6, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.13

Abstract In the actual operation of wet gas pipeline, liquid accumulation is easy to form in the low-lying and uphill sections of the pipeline, which leads to a series of problems such as reduced pipeline transportation efficiency, increased pipeline pressure drop, hydrate formation, slug flow and intensified corrosion in the pipeline. Accurate calculation of liquid holdup is of great significance to the research of flow pattern identification, pipeline corrosion evaluation and prediction, and gas pipeline transportation efficiency calculation. Based on the experimental data of liquid holdup in horizontal pipeline, a commonly used BP neural network (BPNN) model is established in this… More >

    Xin Liu1, Zheng Liu2,*, Zhilin Huang1, Mingyu Ling1, Kangchao Lin1, Pengqing Chen1, Xiaomin Huang1, Yujia Zhai1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 685-707, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.025058

Abstract Ergonomic reliability plays a significant role in the safe operation of devices. With the spread of infectious diseases around the world, in work environments with high loads and high infection rates, medical staff work in a state of high self-protection. The use of visual display terminal (VDT) for medical equipment has undergone fundamental changes, and the traditional medical equipment human-machine interface design needs to be improved. After the completion of design and development, a VDT design enters the experimental testing stage, which has significant limitations for simulating the work of medical staff in the high-load and high-infection environments. The testing… More >

SPP1 and the risk score model to improve the survival prediction of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma based on multiple algorithms and back propagation neural networks

    WENLI ZENG1, FENG LING2, KAINUO DANG3, QINGJIA CHI3,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.3, pp. 581-592, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.025957

Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with poor prognosis and fluctuations in immune status. Although studies have found that secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1) is involved in HCC progression, its independent prognostic value and immune-mediated role remain unclear. Using The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus data, we found that low expression of SPP1 is significantly associated with improved survival of HCC patients and that SPP1 expression is correlated with clinical characteristics. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression confirmed that SPP1 is an independent prognostic factor of HCC. Subsequently, we found that T cell CD4 memory-activated monocytes, M0 macrophages, and resting mast… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2919-2934, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.032935

Abstract The necessity of on-time cancer detection is extremely high in the recent days as it becomes a threat to human life. The skin cancer is considered as one of the dangerous diseases among other types of cancer since it causes severe health impacts on human beings and hence it is highly mandatory to detect the skin cancer in the early stage for providing adequate treatment. Therefore, an effective image processing approach is employed in this present study for the accurate detection of skin cancer. Initially, the dermoscopy images of skin lesions are retrieved and processed by eliminating the noises with… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 2789-2802, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031304

Abstract Data prediction can improve the science of decision-making by making predictions about what happens in daily life based on natural law trends. Back propagation (BP) neural network is a widely used prediction method. To reduce its probability of falling into local optimum and improve the prediction accuracy, we propose an improved BP neural network prediction method based on a multi-strategy sparrow search algorithm (MSSA). The weights and thresholds of the BP neural network are optimized using the sparrow search algorithm (SSA). Three strategies are designed to improve the SSA to enhance its optimization-seeking ability, leading to the MSSA-BP prediction model.… More >
