    Ashraf S. Mashaleh1,2,*, Noor Farizah Binti Ibrahim1, Mohammad Alauthman3, Mohammad Almseidin4, Amjad Gawanmeh5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.2, pp. 2245-2267, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.047323

Abstract Increasing Internet of Things (IoT) device connectivity makes botnet attacks more dangerous, carrying catastrophic hazards. As IoT botnets evolve, their dynamic and multifaceted nature hampers conventional detection methods. This paper proposes a risk assessment framework based on fuzzy logic and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) to address the risks associated with IoT botnets. Fuzzy logic addresses IoT threat uncertainties and ambiguities methodically. Fuzzy component settings are optimized using PSO to improve accuracy. The methodology allows for more complex thinking by transitioning from binary to continuous assessment. Instead of expert inputs, PSO data-driven tunes rules and membership functions. This study presents a… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.1, pp. 811-843, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.046040

Abstract To improve the productivity, the resource utilization and reduce the production cost of flexible job shops, this paper designs an improved two-layer optimization algorithm for the dual-resource scheduling optimization problem of flexible job shop considering workpiece batching. Firstly, a mathematical model is established to minimize the maximum completion time. Secondly, an improved two-layer optimization algorithm is designed: the outer layer algorithm uses an improved PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) to solve the workpiece batching problem, and the inner layer algorithm uses an improved GA (Genetic Algorithm) to solve the dual-resource scheduling problem. Then, a rescheduling method is designed to solve the… More >

Using Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm for Location Problem of Drone Logistics Hub

Li Zheng, Gang Xu*, Wenbin Chen

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.78, No.1, pp. 935-957, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.046006

Abstract Drone logistics is a novel method of distribution that will become prevalent. The advantageous location of the logistics hub enables quicker customer deliveries and lower fuel consumption, resulting in cost savings for the company’s transportation operations. Logistics firms must discern the ideal location for establishing a logistics hub, which is challenging due to the simplicity of existing models and the intricate delivery factors. To simulate the drone logistics environment, this study presents a new mathematical model. The model not only retains the aspects of the current models, but also considers the degree of transportation difficulty from the logistics hub to… More >

Abstract Task scheduling plays a key role in effectively managing and allocating computing resources to meet various computing tasks in a cloud computing environment. Short execution time and low load imbalance may be the challenges for some algorithms in resource scheduling scenarios. In this work, the Hierarchical Particle Swarm Optimization-Evolutionary Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm (HPSO-EABC) has been proposed, which hybrids our presented Evolutionary Artificial Bee Colony (EABC), and Hierarchical Particle Swarm Optimization (HPSO) algorithm. The HPSO-EABC algorithm incorporates both the advantages of the HPSO and the EABC algorithm. Comprehensive testing including evaluations of algorithm convergence speed, resource execution time, load balancing,… More >

Application of DSAPSO Algorithm in Distribution Network Reconfiguration with Distributed Generation

Caixia Tao, Shize Yang*, Taiguo Li

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 187-201, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042421

Abstract With the current integration of distributed energy resources into the grid, the structure of distribution networks is becoming more complex. This complexity significantly expands the solution space in the optimization process for network reconstruction using intelligent algorithms. Consequently, traditional intelligent algorithms frequently encounter insufficient search accuracy and become trapped in local optima. To tackle this issue, a more advanced particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed. To address the varying emphases at different stages of the optimization process, a dynamic strategy is implemented to regulate the social and self-learning factors. The Metropolis criterion is introduced into the simulated annealing algorithm to… More >

Dazhi Wang*, Pengyi Pan, Bowen Niu

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1535-1555, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042286

Abstract The permanent magnet eddy current coupler (PMEC) solves the problem of flexible connection and speed regulation between the motor and the load and is widely used in electrical transmission systems. It provides torque to the load and generates heat and losses, reducing its energy transfer efficiency. This issue has become an obstacle for PMEC to develop toward a higher power. This paper aims to improve the overall performance of PMEC through multi-objective optimization methods. Firstly, a PMEC modeling method based on the Levenberg-Marquardt back propagation (LMBP) neural network is proposed, aiming at the characteristics of the complex input-output relationship and… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1645-1662, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042630

Abstract In the era of network communication, digital image encryption (DIE) technology is critical to ensure the security of image data. However, there has been limited research on combining deep learning neural networks with chaotic mapping for the encryption of digital images. These signals are then predicted using long and short-term memory (LSTM) networks, resulting in the reconstruction of a new chaotic signal. During the research process, it was discovered that there are numerous training parameters associated with the LSTM… More >
