    Oncology Research, Vol.32, No.4, pp. 703-716, 2024, DOI:10.32604/or.2023.030988

Abstract Background: Limited research has been conducted on the influence of autophagy-associated long non-coding RNAs (ARLncRNAs) on the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: We analyzed 371 HCC samples from TCGA, identifying expression networks of ARLncRNAs using autophagy-related genes. Screening for prognostically relevant ARLncRNAs involved univariate Cox regression, Lasso regression, and multivariate Cox regression. A Nomogram was further employed to assess the reliability of Riskscore, calculated from the signatures of screened ARLncRNAs, in predicting outcomes. Additionally, we compared drug sensitivities in patient groups with differing risk levels and investigated potential biological pathways through enrichment analysis, using consensus clustering to identify subgroups… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.5, pp. 1003-1019, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.027209

Abstract Background: Nuclear receptor binding SET domain protein-3 (NSD3) is a histone lysine methyltransferase and a crucial regulator of carcinogenesis in several cancers. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value and potential function of NSD3 in 33 types of human cancer. Methods: The data were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas. Kaplan-Meier analysis, CIBERSORT, gene set enrichment analysis, and gene set variation analysis were performed. The expression of NSD3 was measured using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction and western blot. Results: The expression of NSD3 was altered in pan-cancer samples. Patients with higher levels of NDS3 generally had shorter overall survival… More >

WGCNA and LASSO algorithm constructed an immune infiltration-related 5-gene signature and nomogram to improve prognosis prediction of hepatocellular carcinoma

    MENG FANG1, JING GUO1, HAIPING WANG1, ZICHANG YANG2, HAN ZHAO1,*, QINGJIA CHI2

    BIOCELL, Vol.46, No.2, pp. 401-415, 2022, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2022.016989

Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common immunogenic malignant tumor. Although the new strategies of immunotherapy and targeted therapy have made considerable progress in the treatment of HCC, the 5-year survival rate of patients is still very low. The identification of new prognostic signatures and the exploration of the immune microenvironment are crucial to the optimization and improvement of molecular therapy strategies. We studied the potential clinical benefits of the inflammation regulator miR-93-3p and mined its target genes. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), univariate and multivariate COX regression and the LASSO COX algorithm are employed to identify prognostic-related genes and… More >
