Lu Wei, Zhong Ma*, Chaojie Yang

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 981-1000, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027085

Abstract The demand for adopting neural networks in resource-constrained embedded devices is continuously increasing. Quantization is one of the most promising solutions to reduce computational cost and memory storage on embedded devices. In order to reduce the complexity and overhead of deploying neural networks on Integer-only hardware, most current quantization methods use a symmetric quantization mapping strategy to quantize a floating-point neural network into an integer network. However, although symmetric quantization has the advantage of easier implementation, it is sub-optimal for cases where the range could be skewed and not symmetric. This often comes at the cost of lower accuracy. This… More > Graphic Abstract

Mohammad Mazyad Hazzazi1, Hafeez Ur Rehman2,*, Tariq Shah2, Hajra Younas2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 2033-2060, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.040629

Abstract Protecting the integrity and secrecy of digital data transmitted through the internet is a growing problem. In this paper, we introduce an asymmetric key algorithm for specifically processing images with larger bit values. To overcome the separate flaws of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and the Hill cipher (HC), we present an approach to picture encryption by combining these two encryption approaches. In addition, to strengthen our scheme, the group laws are defined over the rational points of a given elliptic curve (EC) over a Galois field (GF). The exclusive-or (XOR) function is used instead of matrix multiplication to encrypt and… More >

Study on the Influence of the Longitudinal Position of the Fire Source on the Movement Behavior of the Asymmetric Flow Field in Tunnel Fire

    Lu He1,*, Yuhang Zhou1, Guoqing Zhu1

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.08939

Abstract The longitudinal position of the fire source is one of the key parameters affecting the flow field characteristics in a long-distance tunnel. In this paper, a series of numerical simulations were carried out to analyze the influence of the longitudinal position and the heat release rate (HRR) on the induced airflow on both sides of the fire source and the smoke movement behaviors characteristics in the long-distance tunnel. It is found that under the induction of thermal pressure, an asymmetric induced air flow is formed near the fire source, resulting in asymmetric dynamic parameters of ceiling jet. The wind speed… More >

Atomistic Migration Mechanisms of [1210] Symmetric Tilt Grain Boundaries in Magnesium

    Chuanlong Xu1, Haidong Fan1,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.3, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.010110

Abstract Grain boundary (GB) is an important microstructure and plays a vital role in the mechanical properties of polycrystalline materials by GB migration and sliding. In this work, molecular dynamic (MD) simulations were performed to investigate the migration mechanisms of symmetric tilt grain boundaries (STGBs) in magnesium. A total of 15 STGBs with the rotation angle θ from 0° to 90° were studied under a pure shear loading. The results show that the GB migration mechanisms are significantly influenced by the GB structure. For small angle STGBs (θ<28°), the GB migration is mediated by twin nucleation from GB… More >

    Huanan Yu1, Gang Han1,*, Hansong Luo2, He Wang1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.9, pp. 2029-2057, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.028365

Abstract Aiming at the problem that most of the cables in the power collection system of offshore wind farms are buried deep in the seabed, which makes it difficult to detect faults, this paper proposes a two-step fault location method based on compressed sensing and ranging equation. The first step is to determine the fault zone through compressed sensing, and improve the data measurement, dictionary design and algorithm reconstruction: Firstly, the phase-locked loop trigonometric function method is used to suppress the spike phenomenon when extracting the fault voltage, so that the extracted voltage value will not have a large error due… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.8, pp. 1-6, 2017, DOI:10.5098/hmt.8.18

Abstract Study concerning a double skin flow with secondary ventilation was conducted numerically, in order to understand the basic mechanisms of the free convection in an open channel asymmetrically heated with uniform heat flux density (510 W/m2 ). The vertical channel corresponds to a double skin façade, which was immersed in a tank filled with water. The tank corresponds to the environment which allows us to overcome pressure conditions at the inlet and the outlet of the channel. The use of water allows neglecting radiation effect. The mass conservation equations of momentum and energy are solved using the finite volume method… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-7, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.18

Abstract Hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of asymmetric rollers lubricated by non-Newtonian incompressible Bingham plastic fluid are analyzed in this work. It narrates the qualitative research with the rigid system in which the viscosity of the particular non-Newtonian Bingham plastic substance is considered to become the function of hydrodynamic pressure. The equations considered in this work like equation of motion along with continuity and energy equations are solved numerically using MATLAB after particular analytical steps. Resulting from this particular work, it is identified that there is some notable change in temperatures, pressure, load and traction forces with Newtonian and also non-Newtonian fluids both.… More >

A Fault Feature Extraction Model in Synchronous Generator under Stator Inter-Turn Short Circuit Based on ACMD and DEO3S

Yuling He, Shuai Li, Chao Zhang*, Xiaolong Wang

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 115-130, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2023.022317

Abstract This paper proposed a new diagnosis model for the stator inter-turn short circuit fault in synchronous generators. Different from the past methods focused on the current or voltage signals to diagnose the electrical fault, the stator vibration signal analysis based on ACMD (adaptive chirp mode decomposition) and DEO3S (demodulation energy operator of symmetrical differencing) was adopted to extract the fault feature. Firstly, FT (Fourier transform) is applied to the vibration signal to obtain the instantaneous frequency, and PE (permutation entropy) is calculated to select the proper weighting coefficients. Then, the signal is decomposed by ACMD, with the instantaneous frequency and… More >

SQUEEZE FILM LUBRICATION OF ASYMMETRIC ROLLERS BY BINGHAM PLASTIC FLUID

Revathi Gadamsettya,*,† , Venkata Subrahmanyam Sajjab, P. Sudam Sekharc, Dhaneshwar Prasadd

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-6, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.7

Abstract An attempt has been made to investigate hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of asymmetric roller bearings lubricated by thin fluid film under the operating behavior of line contact for a heavily loaded rigid system for normal squeezing motion with cavitation points. The lubricant follows non-Newtonian incompressible Bingham plastic fluid model where the fluid viscosity is supposed to vary with hydrodynamic pressure . The equations which govern the fluid flow such as continuity and momentum equation are solved first analytically and later numerically using MATLAB. The numerical results are achieved for the velocity, pressure, load, and traction forces by varying different physical parameters… More >
