Abstract Intelligent traffic control requires accurate estimation of the road states and incorporation of adaptive or dynamically adjusted intelligent algorithms for making the decision. In this article, these issues are handled by proposing a novel framework for traffic control using vehicular communications and Internet of Things data. The framework integrates Kalman filtering and Q-learning. Unlike smoothing Kalman filtering, our data fusion Kalman filter incorporates a process-aware model which makes it superior in terms of the prediction error. Unlike traditional Q-learning, our Q-learning algorithm enables adaptive state quantization by changing the threshold of separating low traffic from high traffic on the road… More >

Intelligent Vehicular Communication Using Vulnerability Scoring Based Routing Protocol

    M. Ramya Devi*, I. Jasmine Selvakumari Jeya

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 31-45, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026152

Abstract Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an intelligent vehicular technology that allows vehicles to communicate with each other via internet. Communications and the Internet of Things (IoT) enable cutting-edge technologies including such self-driving cars. In the existing systems, there is a maximum communication delay while transmitting the messages. The proposed system uses hybrid Co-operative, Vehicular Communication Management Framework called CAMINO (CA). Further it uses, energy efficient fast message routing protocol with Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) methodology for improving the communication delay, throughput. It improves security while transmitting the messages through networks. In this research, we present a unique intelligent vehicular… More >

Intrusion Detection System for Energy Efficient Cluster Based Vehicular Adhoc Networks

    R. Lavanya1,*, S. Kannan2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.1, pp. 323-337, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.021467

Abstract A vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), a subfield of mobile adhoc network (MANET) is defined by its high mobility by demonstrating the dissimilar mobility patterns. So, VANET clustering techniques are needed with the consideration of the mobility parameters amongst the nearby nodes for constructing the stable clustering techniques. At the same time, security is also a major design issue in VANET, this can be resolved by the intrusion detection systems (IDS). In contrast to the conventional IDS, VANET based IDS are required to be designed in such a way that the functioning of the system does not affect the real-time… More >

Artificial Intelligence Based Clustering with Routing Protocol for Internet of Vehicles

    Manar Ahmed Hamza1,*, Haya Mesfer Alshahrani2, Fahd N. Al-Wesabi3,4, Mesfer Al Duhayyim5, Anwer Mustafa Hilal1, Hany Mahgoub3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.3, pp. 5835-5853, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021059

Abstract With recent advances made in Internet of Vehicles (IoV) and Cloud Computing (CC), the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) find it advantageous in terms of improvement in quality and interactivity of urban transportation service, mitigation of costs incurred, reduction in resource utilization, and improvement in traffic management capabilities. Many traffic-related problems in future smart cities can be sorted out with the incorporation of IoV in transportation. IoV communication enables the collection and distribution of real-time essential data regarding road network condition. In this scenario, energy-efficient and reliable intercommunication routes are essential among vehicular nodes in sustainable urban computing. With this motivation,… More >

Implementation of K-Means Algorithm and Dynamic Routing Protocol in VANET

    Manoj Sindhwani1, Charanjeet Singh1,*, Rajeshwar Singh2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 455-467, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.018498

Abstract With the growth of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks, many services delivery is gaining more attention from the intelligent transportation system. However, mobility characteristics of vehicular networks cause frequent disconnection of routes, especially during the delivery of data. In both developed and developing countries, a lot of time is consumed due to traffic congestion. This has significant negative consequences, including driver stress due to increased time demand, decreased productivity for various personalized and commercial vehicles, and increased emissions of hazardous gases especially air polluting gases are impacting public health in highly populated areas. Clustering is one of the most powerful strategies for… More >
