Up-Sampled Cross-Correlation Based Object Tracking & Vibration Measurement in Agriculture Tractor System

    R. Ganesan1,*, G. Sankaranarayanan1, M. Pradeep Kumar2, V. K. Bupesh Raja1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 667-681, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.031932

Abstract This research introduces a challenge in integrating and cleaning the data, which is a crucial task in object matching. While the object is detected and then measured, the vibration at different light intensities may influence the durability and reliability of mechanical systems or structures and cause problems such as damage, abnormal stopping, and disaster. Recent research failed to improve the accuracy rate and the computation time in tracking an object and in the vibration measurement. To solve all these problems, this proposed research simplifies the scaling factor determination by assigning a known real-world dimension to a predetermined portion of the… More >

Identification of Internal Damage in Circular Cylinders through Laser Scanning of Vibrating Surfaces

    Yisu Xi1, Binkai Shi2, Wei Xu1,3,*, Jing Ge4, Huaxin Zhu5, Dragoslav Sumarac6,7

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.16, No.2, pp. 163-177, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sdhm.2022.022082

Abstract With the aid of non-contact measurements of vibrating surfaces through laser scanning, operating deflection shapes (ODSs) with high spatial resolutions can be used to graphically characterize damage in plane structures. Although numerous damage identification approaches relying on laser-measured ODSs have been developed for plate-type structures, they cannot be directly applied to circular cylinders due to the gap between equations of motions of plates and circular cylinders. To fill this gap, a novel approach is proposed in this study for damage identification of circular cylinders. Damage-induced discontinuities of the derivatives of ODSs can be used to graphically manifest the occurrence of… More >

Small Vibration Measurement of Plant Equipment Using Sampling Moire Camera

    Motoharu Fujigaki*, Tomoaki Nakajima

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.21, No.1, pp. 2-2, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05156

Abstract A sampling moire camera was developed by authors to measure the displacement of large structures effectively. The sampling moire camera was applied to small vibration measurement of a plant equipment in this paper. An algorithm of a sampling moire method is assembled into the sampling moire camera. It is very convenient to use the sampling moire camera in a practical field outdoors because any calibration is not necessary. This camera can measure the 2-D displacement in real-time. An experiment to measure small vibration of a moving conveyor belt to carry materials in a steel plant was performed. A frequency analysis… More >
