    R. Uma Mageswari1, Sara A. Althubiti2, Fayadh Alenezi3, E. Laxmi Lydia4, Gyanendra Prasad Joshi5, Woong Cho6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 4179-4192, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.030806

Abstract Traditional Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) comprise of cost-effective sensors that can send physical parameters of the target environment to an intended user. With the evolution of technology, multimedia sensor nodes have become the hot research topic since it can continue gathering multimedia content and scalar from the target domain. The existence of multimedia sensors, integrated with effective signal processing and multimedia source coding approaches, has led to the increased application of Wireless Multimedia Sensor Network (WMSN). This sort of network has the potential to capture, transmit, and receive multimedia content. Since energy is a major source in WMSN, novel clustering… More >

Metaheuristic Clustering Protocol for Healthcare Data Collection in Mobile Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

    G. Kadiravan1, P. Sujatha1, T. Asvany1, R. Punithavathi2, Mohamed Elhoseny3, Irina V. Pustokhina4, Denis A. Pustokhin5, K. Shankar6,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 3215-3231, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.013034

Abstract Nowadays, healthcare applications necessitate maximum volume of medical data to be fed to help the physicians, academicians, pathologists, doctors and other healthcare professionals. Advancements in the domain of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and Multimedia Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSN) are tremendous. M-WMSN is an advanced form of conventional Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) to networks that use multimedia devices. When compared with traditional WSN, the quantity of data transmission in M-WMSN is significantly high due to the presence of multimedia content. Hence, clustering techniques are deployed to achieve low amount of energy utilization. The current research work aims at introducing a new… More >

Localization Based Evolutionary Routing (LOBER) for Efficient Aggregation in Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

    Ashwinth Janarthanan1,*, Dhananjay Kumar1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.3, pp. 895-912, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.06805

Abstract Efficient aggregation in wireless sensor nodes helps reduce network traffic and reduce energy consumption. The objective of this work Localization Based Evolutionary Routing (LOBER) is to achieve global optimization for aggregation and WMSN lifetime. Improved localization is achieved by a novel Centroid Based Octant Localization (CBOL) technique considering an arbitrary hexagonal region. Geometric principles of hexagon are used to locate the unknown nodes in the centroid positions of partitioned regions. Flower pollination algorithm, a meta heuristic evolutionary algorithm that is extensively applied in solving real life, complex and nonlinear optimization problems in engineering and industry is modified as Enhanced Flower… More >
