    Abstract Drilling technologies based on oil-based drilling fluids and strong inhibitory saltwater fluids are affected by drawbacks such as downhole accidents where sticking and wellbore instabilities occur. Existing polyamine drilling fluids also exhibit problems such as easy decomposition and poor inhibition performances. In order to mitigate these issues, additives can be used, such as polyamine inhibitors and the synthesis of nanometer filtrate reducers.     Abstract Polyamines play an important regulatory role during plant growth and development and adversity stress, and polyamine oxidase (PAO) is involved in polyamine catabolism. In this study, an up-regulated polyamine oxidase gene GmPAO1 was obtained by transcriptome sequencing analysis and screening at soybean seedling stages. Also, its expression pattern and function were analyzed. The identification results of transgenic GmPAO1 soybean positive lines showed that the relative expression level of GmPAO1 in the overexpressed lines was increased under salt stress.     Abstract Manganese (Mn) is one of the essential microelements in all organisms. However, high level of Mn is deleterious to plants. In this study, the effects of exogenous manganese application on mineral element, polyamine (PA) and antioxidant accumulation, as well as polyamine metabolic and antioxidant enzyme activities, were investigated in Malus robusta Rehd., a widely grown apple rootstock.
