The Electric Vehicle Surge: Effective Solutions for Charging Challenges with Advanced Converter Technologies

    Rajanand Patnaik Narasipuram1,*, Md M. Pasha2, Saleha Tabassum3, Amit Singh Tandon4

    Energy Engineering, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 431-469, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ee.2025.055134 - 31 January 2025

Abstract The global adoption of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is on the rise due to their advanced features, with projections indicating they will soon dominate the private vehicle market. However, improper management of EV charging can lead to significant issues. This paper reviews the development of high-power, reliable charging solutions by examining the converter topologies used in rectifiers and converters that transfer electricity from the grid to EV batteries. It covers technical details, ongoing developments, and challenges related to these topologies and control strategies. The integration of rapid charging stations has introduced various Power Quality (PQ) issues,… More >

Biomechanical Response of the Root System in Tomato Seedlings under Wind Disturbance

    Zhengguang Liu1, Jun Yang1, Tobi Fadiji2, Zhiguo Li1,*, Jiheng Ni3

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.4, pp. 1071-1090, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.026408 - 06 January 2023

Abstract Wind disturbance as a green method can effectively prevent the overgrowth of tomato seedlings, and its mechanism may be related to root system mechanics. This study characterized the biophysical mechanical properties of taproot and lateral roots of tomato seedlings at five seedling ages and seedling substrates with three different moisture content. The corresponding root system-substrate finite element (FE) model was then developed and validated. The study showed that seedling age significantly affected the biomechanical properties of the taproot and lateral roots of the seedlings and that moisture content significantly affected the biomechanical properties of the… More >

Adaptive Sub-Threshold Voltage Level Control for Voltage Deviate-Domino Circuits

    C. Arun Prasath1,*, C. Gowri Shankar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 1767-1781, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028758 - 19 July 2022

Abstract Leakage power and propagation delay are two significant issues found in sub-micron technology-based Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS)-based Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) circuit designs. Positive Channel Metal Oxide Semiconductor (PMOS) has been replaced by Negative Channel Metal Oxide Semiconductor (NMOS) in recent years, with low dimension-switching changes in order to shape the mirror of voltage comparator. NMOS is used to reduce stacking leakage as well as total exchange. Domino Logic Circuit is a powerful and versatile digital programmer that gained popularity in recent years. In this study regarding Adaptive Sub Threshold Voltage Level Control Problem, the researchers… More >
