    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.27, No.11, pp. 1709-1728, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2025.070803 - 28 November 2025

Abstract Background: Live streaming has become a globally prevalent form of digital entertainment, particularly among young audiences, fostering new modes of online engagement through real-time interaction. However, excessive use may lead to addictive behaviors in certain users. Current research on live-streaming addiction remains limited, with prior studies focusing primarily on socio-psychological drivers rather than the role of technological affordances. To address this gap, this study develops a conceptual model based on socio-technical systems and attachment theory to investigate how emotional and functional attachment mediate the relationship between platform features and addictive behavior. Methods: A total of 533… More >

Numerical Modeling of Bubble-Particle Attachment in a Volume-of-Fluid Framework

    Hojun Moon, Donghyun You*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.145, No.1, pp. 367-390, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.071648 - 30 October 2025

Abstract A numerical method is presented to simulate bubble–particle interaction phenomena in particle-laden flows. The bubble surface is represented in an Eulerian framework by a volume-of-fluid (VOF) method, while particle motions are predicted in a Lagrangian framework. Different frameworks for describing bubble surfaces and particles make it difficult to predict the exact locations of collisions between bubbles and particles. An effective bubble, defined as having a larger diameter than the actual bubble represented by the VOF method, is introduced to predict the collision locations. Once the collision locations are determined, the attachment of particles to the More >

Relationship between Parent-Child Attachment and Problem Behaviors among Chinese Firstborn Children in Family Transitions: A Meta-Analysis

Cong Liu1, Mohd Nazri Abdul Rahman1,*, Nur Eva2

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.25, No.11, pp. 1161-1172, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.030324 - 08 December 2023

Abstract The implementation of China’s three-child fertility policy has led to a notable increase in multiple-child families. Notably, firstborn children experience a significant transition from being an only child to a non-only child. This transition is associated with problematic behaviors, affecting their social adjustment, sibling relationships, and family harmony. Although several studies have examined the relationship between parent-child attachment and problem behaviors exhibited by firstborn children during family transitions, the findings have been inconsistent. Hence, a meta-analytic study was undertaken to elucidate the inconsistencies in this relationship and explore the moderating factors that may contribute to… More >

    Xiaokang Tian1, Kai Yue1,2,*, Yu You1,2, Yongjian Niu1, Xinxin Zhang1,2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.2, pp. 301-317, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.013521 - 02 April 2021

Abstract The heat transfer performances of a microchannel heat sink in the presence of a nanofluid can be affected by the attachment of nanoparticle (NP) on the microchannel wall. In this study, the mechanisms underlying NP transport and attachment are comprehensively analyzed by means of a coupled double-distribution-function lattice Boltzmann model combined with lattice-gas automata. Using this approach, the temperature distribution and the two-phase flow pattern are obtained for different values of the influential parameters. The results indicate that the number of attached NPs decrease exponentially as their diameter and the fluid velocity grow. An increase… More >
