A Study on the Importance of Core Strength and Coordination Balance during Basketball Based on Biomechanics

    Yixin Liu*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.19, No.3, pp. 131-139, 2022, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2022.019342

Abstract When basketball players play against each other in a game, better coordinated balance can give them a better advantage. This paper briefly introduces the coordination balance and core strength of basketball players. Twenty basketball varsity members were selected from Chengdu College of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China as subjects for the test. The athletes were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group. The control group received regular strength training, and the experimental group received core strength training in addition to regular training. Both groups underwent isometric muscle strength test, coordination and balance test and… More >

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 143-158, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2022.020075

Abstract In recent years evidence has emerged suggesting that Mini-basketball training program (MBTP) can be an effective intervention method to improve social communication (SC) impairments and restricted and repetitive behaviors (RRBs) in preschool children suffering from autism spectrum disorder (ASD). However, there is a considerable degree if interindividual variability concerning these social outcomes and thus not all preschool children with ASD profit from a MBTP intervention to the same extent. In order to make more accurate predictions which preschool children with ASD can benefit from an MBTP intervention or which preschool children with ASD need additional interventions to achieve behavioral improvements,… More >

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.16, Suppl.2, pp. 113-115, 2019, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2019.07509

Abstract Wheelchair basketball is mainly designed for people who are physically challenged with permanent lower body disabilities. Free throw execution is one of the basic skills and could represent the preferred shooting mechanics so as to examine the overall shooting mechanics in basketball players. It requires the body to act as a kinetic chain to summate energy from the wheelchair to the upper extremity for the coordinated movements. Researchers have shown that the kinetic chain of the wheelchair basketball athletes could be affected by the kinematic parameters such as the release velocity and shooting angle [1-3]. The goal of this study… More >

Problems of inverse kinematics regarding the success of the throw in basketball game

    Eugen Merticaru, Emil Budescu

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.11, No.1, pp. 3-4, 2009, DOI:10.3970/icces.2009.011.003

Abstract The paper deals with the problem of motion of human upper limb so that to be ensured the success of the throw in basketball game. For the human upper limb there was considered the model of double pendulum. The classic equation of motion of the ball was correlated with the corresponding equation of motion for the upper limb, so that the ball to pass through the basket. It is well known that the trajectory of a thrown body is a parabola.
The equations of position and velocity of the hand are written and give the initial conditions for the fly… More >

An Automated Player Detection and Tracking in Basketball Game

    P. K. Santhosh1,*, B. Kaarthick2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.3, pp. 625-639, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05161

Abstract Vision-based player recognition is critical in sports applications. Accuracy, efficiency, and Low memory utilization is alluring for ongoing errands, for example, astute communicates and occasion classification. We developed an algorithm that tracks the movements of different players from a video of a basketball game. With their position tracked, we then proceed to map the position of these players onto an image of a basketball court. The purpose of tracking player is to provide the maximum amount of information to basketball coaches and organizations, so that they can better design mechanisms of defence and attack. Overall, our model has a high… More >
