An Experimental Investigation on Workability and Bleeding Behaviors of Cement Pastes Doped with Nano Titanium Oxide (n-TiO2) Nanoparticles and Fly Ash

Fatih Çelik1,*, Oğuzhan Yıldız2, Andaç Batur Çolak3, Samet Mufit Bozkır1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 135-158, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.021014

Abstract In this study, the workability of cement-based grouts containing n-TiO2 nanoparticles and fly ash has been investigated experimentally. Several characteristic quantities (including, but not limited to, the marsh cone flow time, the mini slump spreading diameter and the plate cohesion meter value) have been measured for different percentages of these additives. The use of fly ash as a mineral additive has been found to result in improvements in terms of workability behavior as expected. Moreover, if nano titanium oxide is also used, an improvement can be obtained regarding the bleeding values for the cement-based grout mixes. Using such experimental data,… More >

Adjusting Nitrogen Application in Accordance with Soil Water Availability Enhances Yield and Water Use by Regulating Physiological Traits of Maize under Drip Fertigation

    Mingda Yang1, Shouchen Ma2, Fujian Mei1, Li Wei1, Tongchao Wang1,*, Xiaokang Guan1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.2, pp. 417-435, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.013175

Abstract Knowledge of the interactive effects of water and nitrogen (N) on physio-chemical traits of maize (Zea mays L.) helps to optimize water and N management and improve productivity. A split-plot experiment was conducted with three soil water conditions (severe drought, moderate drought, and fully water supply referring to 45%–55%, 65%–75%, and 85%–95% field capacity, respectively) and four N application rates (N0, N150, N240, and N330 referring to 0, 150, 240, 330 kg N ha–1 respectively) under drip fertigation in 2014 and 2015 in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain of China. The results indicated that drought stress inhibited physiological activity of plants (leaf… More >

QI-BRiCE: Quality Index for Bleeding Regions in Capsule Endoscopy Videos

Muhammad Arslan Usman1, Muhammad Rehan Usman2, Gandeva Bayu Satrya3, Muhammad Ashfaq Khan4, Christos Politis1, Nada Philip1, Soo Young Shin5,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.2, pp. 1697-1712, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014696

Abstract With the advent in services such as telemedicine and telesurgery, provision of continuous quality monitoring for these services has become a challenge for the network operators. Quality standards for provision of such services are application specific as medical imagery is quite different than general purpose images and videos. This paper presents a novel full reference objective video quality metric that focuses on estimating the quality of wireless capsule endoscopy (WCE) videos containing bleeding regions. Bleeding regions in gastrointestinal tract have been focused in this research, as bleeding is one of the major reasons behind several diseases within the tract. The… More >
