Federation Boosting Tree for Originator Rights Protection

    Yinggang Sun1, Hongguo Zhang1, Chao Ma1,*, Hai Huang1, Dongyang Zhan2,3, Jiaxing Qu4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.2, pp. 4043-4058, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.031684

Abstract The problem of data island hinders the application of big data in artificial intelligence model training, so researchers propose a federated learning framework. It enables model training without having to centralize all data in a central storage point. In the current horizontal federated learning scheme, each participant gets the final jointly trained model. No solution is proposed for scenarios where participants only provide training data in exchange for benefits, but do not care about the final jointly trained model. Therefore, this paper proposes a new boosted tree algorithm, called RPBT (the originator Rights Protected federated Boosted Tree algorithm). Compared with… More >

Zida Liu1, Danial Jahed Armaghani2,*, Pouyan Fakharian3, Diyuan Li4, Dmitrii Vladimirovich Ulrikh5, Natalia Nikolaevna Orekhova6, Khaled Mohamed Khedher7,8

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.133, No.3, pp. 799-824, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.021165

Abstract The uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) of rock is an essential property of rock material in different relevant applications, such as rock slope, tunnel construction, and foundation. It takes enormous time and effort to obtain the UCS values directly in the laboratory. Accordingly, an indirect determination of UCS through conducting several rock index tests that are easy and fast to carry out is of interest and importance. This study presents powerful boosting trees evaluation framework, i.e., adaptive boosting machine, extreme gradient boosting machine (XGBoost), and category gradient boosting machine, for estimating the UCS of sandstone. Schmidt hammer rebound number, P-wave velocity,… More >

Grasshopper KUWAHARA and Gradient Boosting Tree for Optimal Features Classifications

    Rabab Hamed M. Aly1,*, Aziza I. Hussein2, Kamel H. Rahouma3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 3985-3997, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025862

Abstract This paper aims to design an optimizer followed by a Kawahara filter for optimal classification and prediction of employees’ performance. The algorithm starts by processing data by a modified K-means technique as a hierarchical clustering method to quickly obtain the best features of employees to reach their best performance. The work of this paper consists of two parts. The first part is based on collecting data of employees to calculate and illustrate the performance of each employee. The second part is based on the classification and prediction techniques of the employee performance. This model is designed to help companies in… More >

Risk Prediction of Aortic Dissection Operation Based on Boosting Trees

    Ling Tan1, Yun Tan2, Jiaohua Qin2, Hao Tang1,*, Xuyu Xiang2, Dongshu Xie1, Neal N. Xiong3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2583-2598, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017779

Abstract During the COVID-19 pandemic, the treatment of aortic dissection has faced additional challenges. The necessary medical resources are in serious shortage, and the preoperative waiting time has been significantly prolonged due to the requirement to test for COVID-19 infection. In this work, we focus on the risk prediction of aortic dissection surgery under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. A general scheme of medical data processing is proposed, which includes five modules, namely problem definition, data preprocessing, data mining, result analysis, and knowledge application. Based on effective data preprocessing, feature analysis and boosting trees, our proposed fusion decision model can… More >
