Hourglass-GCN for 3D Human Pose Estimation Using Skeleton Structure and View Correlation

Ange Chen, Chengdong Wu*, Chuanjiang Leng

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.82, No.1, pp. 173-191, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2024.059284 - 03 January 2025

Abstract Previous multi-view 3D human pose estimation methods neither correlate different human joints in each view nor model learnable correlations between the same joints in different views explicitly, meaning that skeleton structure information is not utilized and multi-view pose information is not completely fused. Moreover, existing graph convolutional operations do not consider the specificity of different joints and different views of pose information when processing skeleton graphs, making the correlation weights between nodes in the graph and their neighborhood nodes shared. Existing Graph Convolutional Networks (GCNs) cannot extract global and deep-level skeleton structure information and view… More >

In vitro polymerization of the dopamine-borate melanin precursor: A proof-of-concept regarding boron neutron-capture therapy for melanoma

    JUAN C. STOCKERT1,2,*, SILVINA A. ROMERO1, MARCELO N. FELIX-POZZI3, ALFONSO BLÁZQUEZ-CASTRO4

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.4, pp. 919-928, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.026631 - 08 March 2023

    Abstract

The 10boron neutron-capture therapy (BNCT) is an emerging antitumoral method that shows increasing biomedical interest. BNCT is based on the selective accumulation of the 10boron isotope within the tumor, which is then irradiated with low-energy thermal neutrons, generating nuclear fission that produces 7lithium, 4helium, and γ rays. Simple catechol-borate esters have been rather overlooked as precursors of melanin biosynthesis, and therefore, a proof-of-concept approach for using dopamine-borate (DABO) as a suitable boron-containing candidate for potential BNCT is presented here. DABO can spontaneously oxidize and autopolymerize in vitro, giving a soluble, eumelanin-like brown-black poly-DABO product. Melanotic melanoma cell cultures treated

Insight into Hydrolytic Stability and Tribological Properties of B-N Coordination Tung Oil-Based Lubricant Additive in Water

    Na Yao1,2, Haiyang Ding1,2,*, Mei Li2, Pengcheng Wang3, Shouhai Li1,2, Lina Xu2, Xiaohua Yang2

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.3, pp. 1367-1381, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.023411 - 31 October 2022

Abstract A tung oil-based boron-nitrogen coordination polymer (TWE-BN) was specially designed and synthesized as a highly efficient water-based lubricant additive, which has been beneficial to both energy conservation and conducive to environmental protection. Its hydrolysis stability and tribological properties in water were investigated. To better research the lubricating properties, and thus to understand the interaction between the surface and the lubricating additives. Herein, both experimental and theoretical computations based on density functional theory (DFT) were performed. The addition of TWE-BN reduces the water friction coefficient and wear scar diameter, and the maximum non-seizure load increased from More > Graphic Abstract

Borate-Modified, Flame-Retardant Paper Packaging Materials for Archive Conservation

    Juanli Wang1, Ming Cao2, Jiaxin Li1, Kaiyuan Li1, Xiaolian Chao1, Bingjie Mai1, Yuhu Li1,*, Jing Cao1,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.4, pp. 1125-1136, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.018147 - 02 November 2021

Abstract Paper packaging materials like cardboards are widely used to protect archives which are a major kind of cultural relics. Unfortunately, paper is a combustible material, and thus exploring environment-friendly flame retardant for paper-based archive packaging material plays an important role. Herein, boric acid, borax and disodium octaborate are used to modify the craft paper-based packaging materials for archive conservation to improve fire safety. The modified craft paper exhibits much higher flame retardancy than the pristine one dose based on vertical burning tests, without much influence on mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation at More > Graphic Abstract
