Analysis of Brushless DC Motor Using Enhanced Fopid Controller with ALO Algorithm

    K. Prathibanandhi1,*, R. Ramesh2, C. Yaashuwanth3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 543-557, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.025860

Abstract The delivery of combined benefits of Alternating Current (AC) motor and Direct Current (DC) Motor makes the Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors as a unique feature in numerous industrial applications. The possibilities of running the motor at very high speed with extensive operating life span of BLDC with miniature and its compact design make it an un-ignorable option for Electrical Engineers. With many advantages, till managing as well as controlling the speed of BLDC is complicated. This work is intended to come up with an effective control of speed of the motor through Torque Ripple Minimization Route and an Enhanced-Fractional… More >

Interleaved Boost Integrated Flyback Converter for Power Factor Correction in Brushless DC Motor Drive

    S. Benisha1,*, J. Anitha Roseline2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 1363-1378, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023012

Abstract The scope of this research is to manage the speed of Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor Drive (PMBLDCMD) for various less capacity applications. In the circuit, a 1ϕ AC power is given to Diode Rectifier and the converted DC supply is given to condenser, which leads to abnormal pulsating current. Because of this pulsating current, the power quality disturbances arise at the supply point. Hence, the PMBLDCMD requires Power Factor Correction (PFC) converter for many household and profitable applications. The rotors of PMBLDCMD are driven by 3ϕ voltage source inverter (VSI), which performs electronic commutation. The range of PFC converter… More >

Speed Control of Motor Based on Improved Glowworm Swarm Optimization

    Zhenzhou Wang1, Yan Zhang1, Pingping Yu1,*, Ning Cao2, Heiner Dintera3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.1, pp. 503-519, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017624

Abstract To better regulate the speed of brushless DC motors, an improved algorithm based on the original Glowworm Swarm Optimization is proposed. The proposed algorithm solves the problems of poor robustness, slow convergence, and low accuracy exhibited by traditional PID controllers. When selecting the glowworm neighborhood set, an optimization scheme based on the growth and competition behavior of weeds is applied to a single glowworm to prevent falling into a local optimal solution. After the glowworm’s position is updated, the league selection operator is introduced to search for the global optimal solution. Combining the local search ability of the invasive weed… More >
