A New Strategy for Dynamic Channel Allocation in CR-WMN Based on RCA

    Kaleem Arshid1,*, Jianbiao Zhang1, Muhammad Yaqub1, Mohammad Daud Awan2, Habiba Ijaz3, Imran Shabir Chuhan4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 2631-2647, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035735

Abstract Channel assignment has emerged as an essential study subject in Cognitive Radio-based Wireless Mesh Networks (CR-WMN). In an era of alarming increase in Multi-Radio Multi-Channel (MRMC) network expansion interference is decreased and network throughput is significantly increased when non-overlapping or partially overlapping channels are correctly integrated. Because of its ad hoc behavior, dynamic channel assignment outperforms static channel assignment. Interference reduces network throughput in the CR-WMN. As a result, there is an extensive research gap for an algorithm that dynamically distributes channels while accounting for all types of interference. This work presents a method for dynamic channel allocations using unsupervised… More >

Optimization of Cognitive Femtocell Network via Oppositional Beetle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

    K. Rajesh Kumar1,*, M. Vijayakumar2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.1, pp. 819-832, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.030961

Abstract In past decades, cellular networks have raised the usage of spectrum resources due to the victory of mobile broadband services. Mobile devices create massive data than ever before, facing the way cellular networks are installed presently for satisfying the increased traffic requirements. The development of a new exclusive spectrum offered to meet up the traffic requirements is challenging as spectrum resources are limited, hence costly. Cognitive radio technology is presented to increase the pool of existing spectrum resources for mobile users via Femtocells, placed on the top of the available macrocell network for sharing the same spectrum. Nevertheless, the concurrent… More >

Effective Channel Allocation for Hybrid Network Usage Between Wi-Fi and Cellular Network

    M. Vanitha1,*, C. T. Kalaivani1, J. Kirubakaran2, R. Praveena2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1617-1627, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.026154

Abstract Hybrid networks are a rising innovation for maximizing wireless network coverage without any extra need for resources. This research paper focuses on effective channel allocation for Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) and cellular networks. As a novel work in this area, the Beyond Access Point Coverage (BAPC) has been presented for adequately installing cellular networks on the unlicensed Wi-Fi spectrum. Networks can straightforwardly exploit Wi-Fi distributed coordination. Our BAPC commits and permits a combat-free period to cellular network subscribers and customary Wi-Fi subscribers to encourage concurrence. This research focuses on the maximization of combined subscriber affiliation and frequency channel distribution to improve… More >

Genetic Based Approach for Optimal Power and Channel Allocation to Enhance D2D Underlaied Cellular Network Capacity in 5G

Ahmed. A. Rosas*, Mona Shokair, M. I. Dessouky

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 3751-3762, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.025226

Abstract With the obvious throughput shortage in traditional cellular radio networks, Device-to-Device (D2D) communications has gained a lot of attention to improve the utilization, capacity and channel performance of next-generation networks. In this paper, we study a joint consideration of power and channel allocation based on genetic algorithm as a promising direction to expand the overall network capacity for D2D underlaied cellular networks. The genetic based algorithm targets allocating more suitable channels to D2D users and finding the optimal transmit powers for all D2D links and cellular users efficiently, aiming to maximize the overall system throughput of D2D underlaied cellular network… More >

Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Long Short-Term Memory for Satellite IoT Channel Allocation

    S. Lakshmi Durga1, Ch. Rajeshwari1, Khalid Hamed Allehaibi2, Nishu Gupta3,*, Nasser Nammas Albaqami4, Isha Bharti5, Ahmad Hoirul Basori6

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 1-19, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022536

Abstract In recent years, the demand for smart wireless communication technology has increased tremendously, and it urges to extend internet services globally with high reliability, less cost and minimal delay. In this connection, low earth orbit (LEO) satellites have played prominent role by reducing the terrestrial infrastructure facilities and providing global coverage all over the earth with the help of satellite internet of things (SIoT). LEO satellites provide wide coverage area to dynamically accessing network with limited resources. Presently, most resource allocation schemes are designed only for geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellites. For LEO satellites, resource allocation is challenging due to… More >

Improved Channel Allocation Scheme for Cognitive Radio Networks

    Shahzad Latif1, Suhail Akraam2, Arif Jamal Malik3, Aaqif Afzaal Abbasi3, Muhammad Habib3, Sangsoon Lim4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.1, pp. 103-114, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.014388

    Abstract

In recent years, wireless channel optimization technologies witnessed tremendous improvements. In this regard, research for developing wireless spectrum for accommodating a wider range of wireless devices increased. This also helped in resolving spectrum scarcity issues. Cognitive Radio (CR) is a type of wireless communication in which a transceiver can intelligently detect which communication channels are being used. To avoid interference, it instantly moves traffic into vacant channels by avoiding the occupied ones. Cognitive Radio (CR) technology showed the potential to deal with the spectrum shortage problem. The spectrum assignment is often considered as a key research challenge in Cognitive Radio… More >
