Evaluation of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Plants Based on Clustering Methods

    Amr A. Munshi*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.45, No.3, pp. 2837-2852, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.033168

Abstract Photovoltaic (PV) systems are electric power systems designed to supply usable solar power by means of photovoltaics, which is the conversion of light into electricity using semiconducting materials. PV systems have gained much attention and are a very attractive energy resource nowadays. The substantial advantage of PV systems is the usage of the most abundant and free energy from the sun. PV systems play an important role in reducing feeder losses, improving voltage profiles and providing ancillary services to local loads. However, large PV grid-connected systems may have a destructive impact on the stability of the electric grid. This is… More >

Evaluating Partitioning Based Clustering Methods for Extended Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF)

    Neetika Bhandari1,*, Payal Pahwa2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.2, pp. 2043-2055, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.028368

Abstract Data is humongous today because of the extensive use of World Wide Web, Social Media and Intelligent Systems. This data can be very important and useful if it is harnessed carefully and correctly. Useful information can be extracted from this massive data using the Data Mining process. The information extracted can be used to make vital decisions in various industries. Clustering is a very popular Data Mining method which divides the data points into different groups such that all similar data points form a part of the same group. Clustering methods are of various types. Many parameters and indexes exist… More >

Cluster-Based Stable BSM Dissemination System for Safe Autonomous Platooning

Jaehwan Lee, Suhwan Kwak, Seungwoo Park, Sangoh Park*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.1, pp. 321-338, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.021237

Abstract Recently, the importance of vehicle safety supporting system has been highlighted as autonomous driving and platooning has attracted the researchers. To ensure driving safety, each vehicle must broadcast a basic safety message (BSM) every 100 ms. However, stable BSM exchange is difficult because of the changing environment and limited bandwidth of vehicular wireless communication. The increasing number of vehicles on the road increases the competition to access wireless networks for BSM exchange; this increases the packet collision rate. An increased packet collision rate impairs the transmission and reception of BSM information, which can easily cause a traffic accident. We propose… More >
