    N. Vijayaa,*, Y. Hari Krishnaa , K. Kalyanib, G.V.R. Reddya

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.11, pp. 1-11, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.11.19

Abstract The present paper deals with the thermo physical properties of a Casson fluid through an oscillating vertical wall embedded through porous medium under the influence transverse magnetic field, radiation, constant heat source and first order chemical reaction. The radiative heat loss is modelled by using Rosseland approximation. Similarity variables were used to convert the partial differential equations into ordinary differential equation. The transformed ordinary differential equations are solved numerically using Runge - Kutta -Fehlberg method with shooting technique. In order to get perfect perception of the flow pattern we obtain the graphs of axial velocity, temperature and concentrations profiles for… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.3, pp. 2649-2663, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.023496

Abstract Generally, the field of fixed point theory has attracted the attention of researchers in different fields of science and engineering due to its use in proving the existence and uniqueness of solutions of real-world dynamic models. C*-algebra is being continually used to explain a physical system in quantum field theory and statistical mechanics and has subsequently become an important area of research. The concept of a C*-algebra-valued metric space was introduced in 2014 to generalize the concept of metric space. In fact, It is a generalization by replacing the set of real numbers with a C*-algebra. After that, this line… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.1, pp. 673-686, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.022878

Abstract The focus of our work is on the most recent results in fixed point theory related to contractive mappings. We describe variants of -contractions that expand, supplement and unify an important work widely discussed in the literature, based on existing classes of interpolative and -contractions. In particular, a large class of contractions in terms of and F for both linear and nonlinear contractions are defined in the framework of -metric-like spaces. The main result in our paper is that --weak contractions have a fixed point in -metric-like spaces if function F or the specified contraction is continuous. As an application… More >

The Optimization Reachability Query of Large Scale Multi-Attribute Constraints Directed Graph

    Kehong Zhang, Keqiu Li

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 71-85, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.071

Abstract Today, many applications such as social network and biological network develop rapidly, the graph data will be expanded constantly on a large scale. Some classic methods can not effectively solve this scale of the graph data. In the reachability query, many technologies such as N-Hop, tree, interval labels, uncertain graph processing are emerging, they also solve a lot of questions about reachability query of graph. But, these methods have not put forward the effective solution for the new issues of the multiattribute constraints reachability on directed graph. In this paper, TCRQDG algorithm effectively solves this new problem. Firstly it optimizes the… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1491-1504, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010365

Abstract Fixed point theory is one of the most important subjects in the setting of metric spaces since fixed point theorems can be used to determine the existence and the uniqueness of solutions of such mathematical problems. It is known that many problems in applied sciences and engineering can be formulated as functional equations. Such equations can be transferred to fixed point theorems in an easy manner. Moreover, we use the fixed point theory to prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions of such integral and differential equations. Let X be a non-empty set. A fixed point for a self-mapping TMore >

    M. ISOLDE RUDOLPH1, I. GINA ROJAS2, ALICIA B. PENISSI3

    BIOCELL, Vol.28, No.1, pp. 1-11, 2004, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2004.28.001

Abstract Birth is the result of complex, well-defined, and coordinated events, that are tightly regulated by endocrine, nervous, and immune responses, and take place primarily in the female reproductive tract. Various mechanisms and mediators involved in pregnancy, labor, and delivery, are highly conserved among different mammalian species and mast cells emerge as potential and crucial participants in these processes, as it is discussed in this review. Han Yu1, Tal Geva2, Rahul H. Rathod2, Alexander Tang2, Chun Yang3, Zheyang Wu3, Kristen L. Billiar4, Xueying Huang5, Dalin Tang1,*,3

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.16, Suppl.2, pp. 56-57, 2019, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2019.07257

Abstract Computational biomechanical models are widely used in cardiovascular research for better understanding of mechanisms governing disease development, quantitative diagnostic strategies and improved surgical designs with better outcome. Patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) account for the majority of cases with late onset right ventricle (RV) failure. The current surgical approach, which includes pulmonary valve replacement/insertion (PVR), has yielded mixed results. An innovative PVR surgical approach was proposed using active contracting bands to help ventricle to contract and improve RV function measured by ejection fraction [1]. Muscle active contraction caused by sarcomere shortening leads to change of zero-load configurations. In… More >

Ventricle Stress/Strain Comparison Between Models Using Different Zero-Load Diastole and Systole Morphologies and Models Using Only One Zero-Load Morphologies

    Han Yu1, Pedro J. del Nido2, Tal Geva3, Chun Yang4, Zheyang Wu4, Rahul H. Rathod3, Xueying Huang5, Kristen L. Billiar6, Dalin Tang1,4,*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.16, Suppl.1, pp. 73-74, 2019, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2019.05837

Abstract Ventricle mechanical stress and strain calculations play an important role in cardiovascular investigations. Patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) account for the majority of cases with late onset right ventricular (RV) failure. The current surgical approach, including pulmonary valve replacement(PVR), has yielded mixed results with some patients recover RV function after pulmonary valve insertion with or without concomitant RV remodeling surgery but some do not[Therrien, Siu and McLaughlin (2000);]. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) data were collected from 6 healthy volunteers and 12 Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) patients before PVR with consent obtained. 12 patients were divided into two groups… More >

Modeling Active Contraction and Relaxation of Left Ventricle Using Different Zero-load Diastole and Systole Geometries for Better Material Parameter Estimation and Stress/Strain Calculations

    Longling Fan1,§, Jing Yao2,§, Chun Yang3, Di Xu2, Dalin Tang1,4*

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.13, No.1, pp. 33-55, 2016, DOI:10.3970/mcb.2016.013.044

Abstract Modeling ventricle active contraction based on in vivo data is extremely challenging because of complex ventricle geometry, dynamic heart motion and active contraction where the reference geometry (zero-stress geometry) changes constantly. A new modeling approach using different diastole and systole zero-load geometries was introduced to handle the changing zero-load geometries for more accurate stress/strain calculations. Echo image data were acquired from 5 patients with infarction (Infarct Group) and 10 without (Non-Infarcted Group). Echo-based computational two-layer left ventricle models using one zero-load geometry (1G) and two zero-load geometries (2G) were constructed. Material parameter values in Mooney-Rivlin models were adjusted to match… More >
