    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.15, No.3, pp. 177-187, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/mcb.2018.04292

Abstract The proportion of cells staining for the nuclear antigen Ki-67 is an important predictive indicator for assessment of tumor cell proliferation and growth in routine pathological investigation. Instead of traditional scoring methods based on the experience of a trained laboratory scientist, deep learning approach can be automatically used to analyze the expression of Ki-67 as well. Deep learning based on convolutional neural networks (CNN) for image classification and single shot multibox detector (SSD) for object detection are used to investigate the expression of Ki-67 for assessment of biopsies from patients with breast cancer in this study. The results focus on… More >

    Lin Zhou1,*, Kangyu Ma1, Lijie Wang1, Ying Chen1,2, Yibin Tang3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.2, pp. 545-557, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05969

Abstract Binaural sound source localization (BSSL) in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and high reverberation environment is still a challenging task. In this paper, a novel BSSL algorithm is proposed by introducing convolutional neural network (CNN). The proposed algorithm first extracts the spatial feature of each sub-band from binaural sound signal, and then combines the features of all sub-bands within one frame to assemble a two-dimensional feature matrix as a grey image. To fully exploit the advantage of the CNN in extracting high-level features from the grey image, the spatial feature matrix of each frame is used as input to train the… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.2, pp. 497-509, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.04882

Abstract ECG signal is of great importance in the clinical diagnosis of various heart diseases. The abnormal origin or conduction of excitation is the electrophysiological mechanism leading to arrhythmia, but the type and frequency of arrhythmia is an important indicator reflecting the stability of cardiac electrical activity. In clinical practice, arrhythmic signals can be classified according to the origin of excitation, the frequency of excitation, or the transmission of excitation. Traditional heart disease diagnosis depends on doctors, and it is influenced by doctors' professional skills and the department's specialty. ECG signal has the characteristics of weak signal, low frequency, large variation,… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.1, pp. 287-303, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05353

Abstract With the rapid development of image editing techniques, the image splicing behavior, typically for those that involve copying a portion from one original image into another targeted image, has become one of the most prevalent challenges in our society. The existing algorithms relying on hand-crafted features can be used to detect image splicing but unfortunately lack precise location information of the tampered region. On the basis of changing the classifications of fully convolutional network (FCN), here we proposed an improved FCN that enables locating the spliced region. Specifically, we first insert the original images into the training dataset that contains… More >

    Yuan Li1, Jianming Zhang1,2, Guizhong Xie1, Xingshuai Zheng1, Shuaiping Guo1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.101, No.3, pp. 187-206, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.101.187

Abstract In this paper, a time-domain boundary element method formulation for the analysis of three-dimensional elastodynamic problems with arbitrary, non-null initial conditions is presented. The formulation is based on the convolution quadrature method, by which the numerical stability is improved significantly. In order to take into account the non-null initial conditions in this formulation, a general method is developed to replace the initial conditions by equivalent pseudo-forces based on the pseudo-force method. The original governing equation is transformed into a new one subjected to null initial conditions. In the numerical examples, longitudinal vibrations of a free beam and a cantilevered beam… More >

    Peng Weihong1,2, Gao Feng1, Cao Guohua3, Xu Yong2, Cheng Hongmei1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.100, No.2, pp. 133-155, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.100.133

Abstract In this paper, the natural boundary element method is used to solve two-dimensional steady-state incompressible Stokes flows in a driven cavity. The analytical functions are expressed for the Stokes problem in an exterior circular domain under single value conditions, which satisfy the Stokes equations’ solutions in the form of complex functions. In order to obtain a uniform integral formula, the velocities on the boundary are expanded into Laurent series, and then compared with the analytical solutions obtained as described above. In this manner, the coefficients of the analytical solutions in the form of complex function are further confirmed. According to… More >
