Analyzing digital color descriptors in wheat

    Salomón N1, V Misller1, C Delrieux2, R Miranda3

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.84, No.2, pp. 306-311, 2015, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2015.84.306

Abstract Color is one of the factors used in quality estimation in many agricultural and food products. Currently, the evaluation of color depends on judgments made by human experts. These are subjective and inevitably affected by physical, physiological and environmental conditions. Suitable instrumental is required to provide objectivity and coherence to color measurements and quantitative expressions. It would be very useful to have tools that allow both practical and precise approaches to chromatic evaluation of products for human consumption. This work suggests a methodology which might contribute to solve that constraint and the analysis of environmental influences on this character in… More >

    Avendaño-Arrazate CH1, L Iracheta-Donjuan1, JC Gódinez-Aguilar2, P López-Gómez1, A Barrios-Ayala3

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.84, No.1, pp. 148-162, 2015, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2015.84.148

Abstract The agave papalote (Agave cupreata Trelease) which is endemic to the Guerrero state, Mexico, is propagated exclusively by seed, but it is overutilized and knowledge of its diversity is needed for its protection. Therefore, the study aimed to determine the morphological variation in wild and cultivated populations of Agave cupreata in five areas of Guerrero. Ninety one characters were evaluated in situ, and only 51 qualitative and quantitative morphological characters of the plant, leaf spine, flower, fruit, seed and flower stalk were selected. The work was carried out in five different altitudinal zones, according to the level of production of… More >

Classification and estimation of genetic diversity in Nopal Opuntia spp based on phenotypic descriptors and genetic-molecular markers

    García-Zambrano2 Eduardo A, Adriana Gutiérrez-Díez, Gilberto E Salinas-García, Elizabeth Cárdenas-Cerda, Rigoberto E Vázquez-Alvarado, Francisco Zavala-García, Jesús Martínez de la Cerda

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.75, pp. 125-135, 2006, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2006.75.125

Abstract The objective of this investigation was to develop and apply molecular markers (type RAPD) for estimating the genetic diversity of 100 Opuntia accessions from the Germoplasma Bank of the FAUANL. The molecular data were evaluated by multivariate analysis using the methods of Ward and UPGMA. These results were compared with phenotypic data taken from the same accessions, already evaluated by the above mentioned methods. The protocol was modified for the extraction of the Opuntia DNA to reduce the quantity of polysaccharides and their influence in its quality. Later on, a protocol was developed for the generation of molecular markers of… More >

Descriptor Extraction on Inherent Creep Strength of Carbon Steels by Exhaustive Search

    Junya Sakurai1, Junya Inoue2,3,4, Masahiko Demura4,*, Yoichi Mototake5, Masato Okada4,5, Masayoshi Yamazaki4

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.22, No.2, pp. 128-128, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05408

Abstract According to the inherent creep strength concept proposed by Kimura et al., microstructural strengthening effect is expiring after a long-term creep deformation at high temperature. In the region, the solid solution hardening effect becomes dominant so that the rupture time is expected to be a simple function of chemical composition and test conditions. In fact, they found that there was a linear relationship between logarithm rupture time and the amount of Mo for the carbon steel JIS STB410. They also found the positive correlations of Cr and Mn to the logarithmic rupture time. However, it is difficult to specify the… More >

Phishing Detection with Image Retrieval Based on Improved Texton Correlation Descriptor

    Guoyuan Lin1,2,*, Bowen Liu1, Pengcheng Xiao3, Min Lei4, Wei Bi5,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.3, pp. 533-547, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.03720

Abstract Anti-detection is becoming as an emerging challenge for anti-phishing. This paper solves the threats of anti-detection from the threshold setting condition. Enough webpages are considered to complicate threshold setting condition when the threshold is settled. According to the common visual behavior which is easily attracted by the salient region of webpages, image retrieval methods based on texton correlation descriptor (TCD) are improved to obtain enough webpages which have similarity in the salient region for the images of webpages. There are two steps for improving TCD which has advantage of recognizing the salient region of images: (1) This paper proposed Weighted… More >
