Overview of the Global Electricity System in Oman Considering Energy Demand Model Forecast

    Ahmed Al-Abri1, Kenneth E. Okedu1,2,*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.2, pp. 409-423, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.020375

Abstract Lately, in modern smart power grids, energy demand for accurate forecast of electricity is gaining attention, with increased interest of research. This is due to the fact that a good energy demand forecast would lead to proper responses for electricity demand. In addition, proper energy demand forecast would ensure efficient planning of the electricity industry and is critical in the scheduling of the power grid capacity and management of the entire power network. As most power systems are been deregulated and with the rapid introduction and development of smart-metering technologies in Oman, new opportunities may arise considering the efficiency and… More > Graphic Abstract

Prediction of Residential Building’s Solar Installation Energy Demand in Morocco Using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis

    Nada Yamoul1,*, Latifa Dlimi1, Baraka Achraf Chakir2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 2135-2148, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.020005

Abstract The building sector is one of the main energy-consuming sectors in Morocco. In fact, it accounts for 33% of the final consumption of energy and records a high increase in the annual consumption of energy caused by further planned large-scale projects. Indeed, the energy consumption of the building sector is experiencing a significant acceleration justified by the rapid need for the development of housing stock, wich is estimated at an average increase of 1,5% per year; furthermore, tant is an estimated increase of about 6,4%. In this sense, building constitutes an important potential source for rationalizing both energy consumption and… More >

    Taher M. Ghazal1,2, Sajida Noreen3, Raed A. Said4, Muhammad Adnan Khan5,*, Shahan Yamin Siddiqui3,6, Sagheer Abbas3, Shabib Aftab3, Munir Ahmad3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 539-553, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.019658

Abstract The usage of IoT-based smart meter in electric power consumption shows a significant role in helping the users to manage and control their electric power consumption. It produces smooth communication to build equitable electric power distribution for users and improved management of the entire electric system for providers. Machine learning predicting algorithms have been worked to apply the electric efficiency and response of progressive energy creation, transmission, and consumption. In the proposed model, an IoT-based smart meter uses a support vector machine and deep extreme machine learning techniques for professional energy management. A deep extreme machine learning approach applied to… More >
