    Muhammad Farman1,2,3,*, Muhammad Hashir Zubair4, Hua Li4, Kottakkaran Sooppy Nisar5,6, Mohamad Hafez7,8

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.146, No.1, 2026, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.074160 - 29 January 2026

Abstract Lassa Fever (LF) is a viral hemorrhagic illness transmitted via rodents and is endemic in West Africa, causing thousands of deaths annually. This study develops a dynamic model of Lassa virus transmission, capturing the progression of the disease through susceptible, exposed, infected, and recovered populations. The focus is on simulating this model using the fractional Caputo derivative, allowing both qualitative and quantitative analyses of boundedness, positivity, and solution uniqueness. Fixed-point theory and Lipschitz conditions are employed to confirm the existence and uniqueness of solutions, while Lyapunov functions establish the global stability of both disease-free and… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.145, No.2, pp. 2189-2222, 2025, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2025.070298 - 26 November 2025

Abstract Breast cancer’s heterogeneous progression demands innovative tools for accurate prediction. We present a hybrid framework that integrates machine learning (ML) and fractional-order dynamics to predict tumor growth across diagnostic and temporal scales. On the Wisconsin Diagnostic Breast Cancer dataset, seven ML algorithms were evaluated, with deep neural networks (DNNs) achieving the highest accuracy (97.72%). Key morphological features (area, radius, texture, and concavity) were identified as top malignancy predictors, aligning with clinical intuition. Beyond static classification, we developed a fractional-order dynamical model using Caputo derivatives to capture memory-driven tumor progression. The model revealed clinically interpretable patterns: More >

Dynamic Response of Fractional-Order Thermal-Magnetic-Elastic Coupled Solids with Spherical Holes Based on Moore-Gibson-Thompson Theory

    Lixu Chen, Yongbin Ma*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 1-1, 2025, DOI:10.32604/icces.2025.012272

Abstract This study establishes an innovative theoretical framework for thermo-magneto-elastic coupling, based on the generalized thermoelastic theory of Moore-Gibson-Thompson (MGT), and significantly extends the constitutive equation by introducing spatio-temporal nonlocal parameters to more accurately describe the thermodynamic behavior of materials under extreme conditions, such as ultrafast laser heating and micro-nano scale environments. This paper innovatively adopts tempered Caputo fractional derivatives to describe the memory effect of the system, which can more accurately describe complex thermodynamic processes and significantly enhance the physical authenticity of the model. The dynamic response of magneto-thermo-elasticity of spherical cavity structures under time-varying… More >

    Aadel M. Alatwi1,2, Abualkasim Bakeer3, Sherif A. Zaid1,*, Ibrahem E. Atawi1, Hani Albalawi1,4, Ahmed M. Kassem5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.140, No.2, pp. 1807-1830, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2024.048521 - 20 May 2024

Abstract An autonomous microgrid that runs on renewable energy sources is presented in this article. It has a superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) device, wind energy-producing devices, and an energy storage battery. However, because such microgrids are nonlinear and the energy they create varies with time, controlling and managing the energy inside them is a difficult issue. Fractional-order proportional integral (FOPI) controller is recommended for the current research to enhance a standalone microgrid’s energy management and performance. The suggested dedicated control for the SMES comprises two loops: the outer loop, which uses the FOPI to regulate… More >

    Yujie Duan1, Jianguo Liang1,*, Jianglin Liu1, Haifeng Gao1, Yinhui Li2, Jinzhu Zhang1, Xinyu Wen3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1239-1261, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.044400 - 29 January 2024

Abstract In the fiber winding process, strong disturbance, uncertainty, strong coupling, and fiber friction complicate the winding constant tension control. In order to effectively reduce the influence of these problems on the tension output, this paper proposed a tension fluctuation rejection strategy based on feedforward compensation. In addition to the bias harmonic curve of the unknown state, the tension fluctuation also contains the influence of bounded noise. A tension fluctuation observer (TFO) is designed to cancel the uncertain periodic signal, in which the frequency generator is used to estimate the critical parameter information. Then, the fluctuation More >

A New Scheme of the ARA Transform for Solving Fractional-Order Waves-Like Equations Involving Variable Coefficients

    Yu-Ming Chu1, Sobia Sultana2, Shazia Karim3, Saima Rashid4,*, Mohammed Shaaf Alharthi5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 761-791, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028600 - 22 September 2023

Abstract The goal of this research is to develop a new, simplified analytical method known as the ARA-residue power series method for obtaining exact-approximate solutions employing Caputo type fractional partial differential equations (PDEs) with variable coefficient. ARA-transform is a robust and highly flexible generalization that unifies several existing transforms. The key concept behind this method is to create approximate series outcomes by implementing the ARA-transform and Taylor’s expansion. The process of finding approximations for dynamical fractional-order PDEs is challenging, but the ARA-residual power series technique magnifies this challenge by articulating the solution in a series pattern… More >

Abstract Image enhancement is an important preprocessing task as the contrast is low in most of the medical images, Therefore, enhancement becomes the mandatory process before actual image processing should start. This research article proposes an enhancement of the model-based differential operator for the images in general and Echocardiographic images, the proposed operators are based on Grunwald-Letnikov (G-L), Riemann-Liouville (R-L) and Caputo (Li & Xie), which are the definitions of fractional order calculus. In this fractional-order, differentiation is well focused on the enhancement of echocardiographic images. This provoked for developing a non-linear filter mask for image… More >

Abstract This study aims to solve the nonlinear fractional-order mathematical model (FOMM) by using the normal and dysregulated bone remodeling of the myeloma bone disease (MBD). For the more precise performance of the model, fractional-order derivatives have been used to solve the disease model numerically. The FOMM is preliminarily designed to focus on the critical interactions between bone resorption or osteoclasts (OC) and bone formation or osteoblasts (OB). The connections of OC and OB are represented by a nonlinear differential system based on the cellular components, which depict stable fluctuation in the usual bone case and… More >
