Saiyed Umer1,*, Ranjeet Kumar Rout2, Shailendra Tiwari3, Ahmad Ali AlZubi4, Jazem Mutared Alanazi4, Kulakov Yurii5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.135, No.2, pp. 1165-1185, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.023312

Abstract A deep fusion model is proposed for facial expression-based human-computer Interaction system. Initially, image preprocessing, i.e., the extraction of the facial region from the input image is utilized. Thereafter, the extraction of more discriminative and distinctive deep learning features is achieved using extracted facial regions. To prevent overfitting, in-depth features of facial images are extracted and assigned to the proposed convolutional neural network (CNN) models. Various CNN models are then trained. Finally, the performance of each CNN model is fused to obtain the final decision for the seven basic classes of facial expressions, i.e., fear, disgust, anger, surprise, sadness, happiness,… More >

    Bin Lin1, Zhengyu Li2,*, Dong Wen2, Jianchao Liu2, Shan Yang3, Yong Zhou2, Chao Lu4, Qian Qiu4,5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.74, No.1, pp. 1509-1521, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.032557

Abstract The further development of catalytic elements has been plagued by activation and binary problems. The automatic shift model that has emerged in recent years helps components achieve full range. However, the detection data still remains unstable in the shift area (7%~13%). This paper proposes a Catalytic Combustion and Thermal Conductivity (CCTC) model for the specified range, which can be explained from two aspects based on the existing methods. On the one hand, it uses iterative location search to process heterogeneous data, judges the prediction position of data points, and then gives weight evaluation. On the other hand, it corrects the… More >

Abstract Brain cancer detection and classification is done utilizing distinct medical imaging modalities like computed tomography (CT), or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An automated brain cancer classification using computer aided diagnosis (CAD) models can be designed to assist radiologists. With the recent advancement in computer vision (CV) and deep learning (DL) models, it is possible to automatically detect the tumor from images using a computer-aided design. This study focuses on the design of automated Henry Gas Solubility Optimization with Fusion of Handcrafted and Deep Features (HGSO-FHDF) technique for brain cancer classification. The proposed HGSO-FHDF technique aims for detecting and classifying different… More >

Evolutionary Intelligence and Deep Learning Enabled Diabetic Retinopathy Classification Model

    Bassam A. Y. Alqaralleh1,*, Fahad Aldhaban1, Anas Abukaraki2, Esam A. AlQaralleh3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 87-101, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026729

Abstract Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) has become a widespread illness among diabetics across the globe. Retinal fundus images are generally used by physicians to detect and classify the stages of DR. Since manual examination of DR images is a time-consuming process with the risks of biased results, automated tools using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to diagnose the disease have become essential. In this view, the current study develops an Optimal Deep Learning-enabled Fusion-based Diabetic Retinopathy Detection and Classification (ODL-FDRDC) technique. The intention of the proposed ODL-FDRDC technique is to identify DR and categorize its different grades using retinal fundus images. In addition, ODL-FDRDC… More >

Abstract In agriculture, rice plant disease diagnosis has become a challenging issue, and early identification of this disease can avoid huge loss incurred from less crop productivity. Some of the recently-developed computer vision and Deep Learning (DL) approaches can be commonly employed in designing effective models for rice plant disease detection and classification processes. With this motivation, the current research work devises an Efficient Deep Learning based Fusion Model for Rice Plant Disease (EDLFM-RPD) detection and classification. The aim of the proposed EDLFM-RPD technique is to detect and classify different kinds of rice plant diseases in a proficient manner. In addition,… More >

Machine Learning Based Analysis of Real-Time Geographical of RS Spatio-Temporal Data

    Rami Sameer Ahmad Al Kloub*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5151-5165, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024309

Abstract Flood disasters can be reliably monitored using remote sensing photos with great spatiotemporal resolution. However, satellite revisit periods and extreme weather limit the use of high spatial resolution images. As a result, this research provides a method for combining Landsat and MODIS pictures to produce high spatiotemporal imagery for flood disaster monitoring. Using the spatial and temporal adaptive reflectance fusion model (STARFM), the spatial and temporal reflectance unmixing model (STRUM), and three prominent algorithms of flexible spatiotemporal data fusion (FSDAF), Landsat fusion images are created by fusing MODIS and Landsat images. Then, to extract flood information, utilize a support vector… More >

Abstract With recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, the use of deep learning models achieved remarkable advances in computer vision, ecommerce, cybersecurity, and healthcare. Particularly, numerous applications provided efficient solutions to assist radiologists for medical imaging analysis. For instance, automatic lesion detection and classification in mammograms is still considered a crucial task that requires more accurate diagnosis and precise analysis of abnormal lesions. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end system, which is based on You-Only-Look-Once (YOLO) model, to simultaneously localize and classify suspicious breast lesions from entire mammograms. The proposed system first preprocesses the raw images, then recognizes abnormal regions as… More >

A Fractional Drift Diffusion Model for Organic Semiconductor Devices

Yi Yang*, Robert A. Nawrocki, Richard M. Voyles, Haiyan H. Zhang

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.1, pp. 237-266, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017439

Abstract Because charge carriers of many organic semiconductors (OSCs) exhibit fractional drift diffusion (Fr-DD) transport properties, the need to develop a Fr-DD model solver becomes more apparent. However, the current research on solving the governing equations of the Fr-DD model is practically nonexistent. In this paper, an iterative solver with high precision is developed to solve both the transient and steady-state Fr-DD model for organic semiconductor devices. The Fr-DD model is composed of two fractional-order carriers (i.e., electrons and holes) continuity equations coupled with Poisson’s equation. By treating the current density as constants within each pair of consecutive grid nodes, a… More >

Abstract Data fusion is one of the challenging issues, the healthcare sector is facing in the recent years. Proper diagnosis from digital imagery and treatment are deemed to be the right solution. Intracerebral Haemorrhage (ICH), a condition characterized by injury of blood vessels in brain tissues, is one of the important reasons for stroke. Images generated by X-rays and Computed Tomography (CT) are widely used for estimating the size and location of hemorrhages. Radiologists use manual planimetry, a time-consuming process for segmenting CT scan images. Deep Learning (DL) is the most preferred method to increase the efficiency of diagnosing ICH. In… More >
