    Yonghua Li1,*, Xiaoning Bai2, Shanshan Shi1, Shenxuan Wang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.130, No.2, pp. 1077-1092, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.018181 - 13 December 2021

Abstract Multiple failure modes and strength degradation are usually inherent in the gear transmission system, which brings new challenges for conducting fatigue reliability analysis and design. This paper proposes a novel dynamic fatigue reliability analysis method for failure dependence and strength degradation based on the combination of the Copula function and Gamma process. Firstly, the dynamic simulation model of the gear transmission system is established to obtain the dynamic stress-time history. The Gamma process is then used to describe the strength degradation to establish the dynamic stress-strength interference model. The marginal distribution functions of tooth contact More >

Bayesian Group Chain Sampling Plan for Poisson Distribution with Gamma Prior

    Waqar Hafeez1, Nazrina Aziz1,2,*, Zakiyah Zain1,2, Nur Azulia Kamarudin1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.70, No.2, pp. 3891-3902, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019695 - 27 September 2021

Abstract Acceptance sampling is a statistical quality control technique that consists of procedures for sentencing one or more incoming lots of finished products. Acceptance or rejection is based on the inspection of sampled products drawn randomly from the lot. The theory of previous acceptance sampling was built upon the assumption that the process from which the lots are produced is stable and the process fraction nonconforming is a constant. Process variability is inevitable due to random fluctuations, which may inadvertently lead to quality variation. As an alternative to traditional sampling plans, Bayesian approach can be used… More >

Robust Sound Source Localization Using Convolutional Neural Network Based on Microphone Array

    Xiaoyan Zhao1,*, Lin Zhou2, Ying Tong1, Yuxiao Qi1, Jingang Shi3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.1, pp. 361-371, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.018823 - 26 July 2021

Abstract In order to improve the performance of microphone array-based sound source localization (SSL), a robust SSL algorithm using convolutional neural network (CNN) is proposed in this paper. The Gammatone sub-band steered response power-phase transform (SRP-PHAT) spatial spectrum is adopted as the localization cue due to its feature correlation of consecutive sub-bands. Since CNN has the “weight sharing” characteristics and the advantage of processing tensor data, it is adopted to extract spatial location information from the localization cues. The Gammatone sub-band SRP-PHAT spatial spectrum are calculated through the microphone signals decomposed in frequency domain by Gammatone… More >

Brain Tumour Detection by Gamma DeNoised Wavelet Segmented Entropy Classifier

    Simy Mary Kurian1, Sujitha Juliet Devaraj1,*, Vinodh P. Vijayan2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2093-2109, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018090 - 21 July 2021

Abstract Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an essential tool for detecting brain tumours. However, identification of brain tumours in the early stages is a very complex task since MRI images are susceptible to noise and other environmental obstructions. In order to overcome these problems, a Gamma MAP denoised Strömberg wavelet segmentation based on a maximum entropy classifier (GMDSWS-MEC) model is developed for efficient tumour detection with high accuracy and low time consumption. The GMDSWS-MEC model performs three steps, namely pre-processing, segmentation, and classification. Within the GMDSWS-MEC model, the Gamma MAP filter performs the pre-processing task and… More >

Abstract The chemokine ligand 13-chemokine receptor 5 (CXCL13-CXCR5) axis has been characterized as a critical tumor-promoting signaling pathway in the tumor microenvironment (TME) in multiple types of solid tumors. In this study, we analyzed the expression profile of CXCL13 in kidney clear cell carcinoma (KIRC) and its correlation with tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs). A monoclonal antibody against CXCL13 with high affinity and purity was generated in our lab for western blot and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Bioinformatic analysis was performed based on bulk-seq data from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-KIRC and single-cell RNA-seq data from scRNASeqDB and PanglaoDB. Results showed… More >

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.36, No.4, pp. 305-321, 2019, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2019.36.04.2

Abstract Graphite is the most suitable material as dry lubricant. However, its application as a lubricant is limited with necessity of moisture vapors. Alternatively, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) has an excellent lubrication property but does not have mechanical characteristics. The effect of gamma radiation doses on the lubrication behavior of graphite –PTFE (Inoflon A-408) system has been studied using (TR-TW-30L) tribotester with thrust washer attachment. Different compositions of graphite and PTFE were prepared and irradiated by gamma rays. Improved tribological properties of graphite –PTFE system showed by decrease in coefficient of friction and wear. SEM-EDX, XRD and contact More >

    Kahina Iggui1,2,*, Mustapha Kaci1, Mohamed Mahlous3, Nicolas Le Moigne4, Anne Bergeret4

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.7, No.9, pp. 807-820, 2019, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2019.06778

Abstract In this paper, the effects of gamma irradiation on Cast poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) and PHBV/Cloisite 30B (C30B) (3 wt%) bionanocomposite prepared by melt compounding, were evaluated at various doses, i.e., 5, 15, 20, 50 and 100 kGy at room temperature in air. Changes in molecular weight, morphology and physical properties were investigated. The study showed that the main degradation mechanism occurring in gamma irradiation in both Cast PHBV and C-PHBV/3C30B bionanocomposite is chain scission, responsible for the decrease of molecular weight. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data indicated a regular decrease in crystallization temperature, melting temperature and… More >
