    Mengshuai Chen1,2, Karim Ragui1, Lin Chen1,2,3,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.26, No.4, pp. 1-2, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09526

Abstract With the development of supercritical fluid technology, supercritical CO2 has great applications in carbon sequestration, soil remediation, recovery of petroleum gas, material extraction in industrial processes, and product pure drug nanoparticles/nanocrystals. In these applications, the flow and heat transfer, phase change of sCO2 in porous media are involved. Combined with the previous research methods, we establish a three-dimensional microchannel chip porous media model. Using the numerical simulation method, we study the flow and heat transfer characteristics of sCO2 in the microchannel chip porous media under different working conditions. The temperature, pressure and density distribution are obtained under different working conditions.… More >

Numerical Simulation of Flow Boiling of HFE-7100 in Horizontal Rectangular Single Microchannel

    Zihuan Ma1, Xiang Ma1, Chengyu Hu1, Jinjia Wei1,2,*

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.08963

Abstract Flow boiling in microchannel heat sinks is considered as a promising cooling solution for electronic components. Higher heat flux can be effectively dissipated by the utilization of the latent heat of vaporization. However, most of the current studies on flow boiling in microchannels are mainly experimental investigations and two-dimensional numerical studies. In this paper, the Volume of Fluid (VOF) model combined with the Lee evaporation-condensation phase change model is used to simulate the flow boiling of HFE7100 in horizontal microchannels by three-dimensional conjugate numerical simulation. The numerical simulation results are compared with the experimental results [1], showing an excellent agreement.… More >

Multi-physics Simulation of Tar-Rich Coal in-situ Pyrolysis in the Fractured Porous Zone with Multi-Region Homogenization Treatment

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.25, No.4, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.08826

Abstract The macroscopic tar-rich coal in-situ pyrolysis (TCISP) multi-physics simulation is conducted, in the fractured porous zone, by coupling heat transfer, fluid flow, and chemical reaction. A novel TCISP pattern of gas injection between fractured zones is proposed, by treating the fractured porous zone as a homogeneous porosity gradient descending region. In this case, nearly 11500 kg of oil can be produced within 6 months from a 10*10*1 m3 area. The influence of the fractured zone and porosity are investigated. Results indicated that gas injection between fractured zones is more conducive to rapid production, compared with the traditional case that gas… More >
