    Jingyu Zhang1,2, Pian Zhou1, Jin Wang1, Osama Alfarraj3, Saurabh Singh4, Min Zhu5,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.2, pp. 1613-1633, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.044418

Abstract Blockchain can realize the reliable storage of a large amount of data that is chronologically related and verifiable within the system. This technology has been widely used and has developed rapidly in big data systems across various fields. An increasing number of users are participating in application systems that use blockchain as their underlying architecture. As the number of transactions and the capital involved in blockchain grow, ensuring information security becomes imperative. Addressing the verification of transactional information security and privacy has emerged as a critical challenge. Blockchain-based verification methods can effectively eliminate the need for centralized third-party organizations. However,… More >

A Hybrid Parallel Strategy for Isogeometric Topology Optimization via CPU/GPU Heterogeneous Computing

    Zhaohui Xia1,3, Baichuan Gao3, Chen Yu2,*, Haotian Han3, Haobo Zhang3, Shuting Wang3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.2, pp. 1103-1137, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029177

Abstract This paper aims to solve large-scale and complex isogeometric topology optimization problems that consume significant computational resources. A novel isogeometric topology optimization method with a hybrid parallel strategy of CPU/GPU is proposed, while the hybrid parallel strategies for stiffness matrix assembly, equation solving, sensitivity analysis, and design variable update are discussed in detail. To ensure the high efficiency of CPU/GPU computing, a workload balancing strategy is presented for optimally distributing the workload between CPU and GPU. To illustrate the advantages of the proposed method, three benchmark examples are tested to verify the hybrid parallel strategy in this paper. The results… More > Graphic Abstract

Modeling, Analysis and Simulation of a High-Efficiency Battery Control System

    Mohammed Ayad Alkhafaji1, Yunus Uzun2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 709-732, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.024236

Abstract This paper explains step-by-step modeling and simulation of the full circuits of a battery control system and connected together starting from the AC input source to the battery control and storage system. The three-phase half-controlled rectifier has been designed to control and convert the AC power into DC power. In addition, two types of direct current converters have been used in this paper which are a buck and bidirectional DC/DC converters. These systems adjust the output voltage to be lower or higher than the input voltage. In the buck converters, the main switch operates in conduction or cut-off mode and… More >

High-Efficiency Video Coder in Pruned Environment Using Adaptive Quantization Parameter Selection

    Krishan Kumar1,*, Mohamed Abouhawwash2,3, Amit Kant Pandit1, Shubham Mahajan1, Mofreh A. Hogo4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1977-1993, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027850

Abstract The high-efficiency video coder (HEVC) is one of the most advanced techniques used in growing real-time multimedia applications today. However, they require large bandwidth for transmission through bandwidth, and bandwidth varies with different video sequences/formats. This paper proposes an adaptive information-based variable quantization matrix (AI-VQM) developed for different video formats having variable energy levels. The quantization method is adapted based on video sequence using statistical analysis, improving bit budget, quality and complexity reduction. Further, to have precise control over bit rate and quality, a multi-constraint prune algorithm is proposed in the second stage of the AI-VQM technique for pre-calculating K… More >

Two-Stage High-Efficiency Encryption Key Update Scheme for LoRaWAN Based IoT Environment

    Kun-Lin Tsai1,2,*, Li-Woei Chen3, Fang-Yie Leu4,5, Chuan-Tian Wu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 547-562, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026557

Abstract Secure data communication is an essential requirement for an Internet of Things (IoT) system. Especially in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) systems, when important data are hacked, it may induce property loss or life hazard. Even though many IoT-related communication protocols are equipped with secure policies, they still have some security weaknesses in their IoT systems. LoRaWAN is one of the low power wide-area network protocols, and it adopts Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to provide message integrity and confidentiality. However, LoRaWAN's encryption key update scheme can be further improved. In this paper, a Two-stage… More >

A High-Efficiency Inversion Method for the Material Parameters of an Alberich-Type Sound Absorption Coating Based on a Deep Learning Model

    Yiping Sun1,2, Jiadui Chen1, Qiang Bai1, Xuefeng Zhao1, Meng Tao1,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.131, No.3, pp. 1693-1716, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.019336

Abstract Research on the acoustic performance of an anechoic coating composed of cavities in a viscoelastic material has recently become an area of great interest. Traditional forward research methods are unable to manipulate sound waves accurately and effectively, are difficult to analyse, have time-consuming solution processes, and have large optimization search spaces. To address these issues, this paper proposes a deep learning-based inverse research method to efficiently invert the material parameters of Alberich-type sound absorption coatings and rapidly predict their acoustic performance. First, an autoencoder (AE) model is pretrained to reconstruct the viscoelastic material parameters of an Alberich-type sound absorption coating,… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.44, No.4, pp. 655-669, 2020, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2020.013202

Abstract Heat stress (HS) reaction can lead to serious physiological dysfunction associated with cardiovascular and various organ diseases. Ginsenoside Rg3 (G-Rg3) is a representative component of ginseng rare saponin and can protect against multiple organs, also used as functional food to adjust the balance of the human body, but the therapeutic effect and molecular mechanism of G-Rg3 on male diseases under HS are underexplored. The aim of the present study, G-Rg3 was prepared through the efficient conversion of ginsenoside Rd and investigate the contribution of G-Rg3 to testicular injury induced exposure to HS. All mice were divided into four groups as… More >
