    Tianyu Zhao1, Xiaoli Zhao2, Kenny S. L. Cheah3,*, Ye Zhang3

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.27, No.12, pp. 2023-2038, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2025.071322 - 31 December 2025

Abstract Background: Despite access to university counseling services, many students underutilize them due to cultural stigma, language barriers, and perceived irrelevance. As a result, ChatGPT has emerged as an informal, always-available support system. This study investigates how international PhD students in Malaysia navigate loneliness, mental well-being, and social disconnection through interactions with Generative AI (mainly ChatGPT. Methods: Using a mixed-methods design, the study surveyed 155 international doctoral students and analyzed quantitative responses across four dimensions: loneliness, well-being (WHO-5), perceived social support, and AI-facilitated emotional support. Additionally, open-ended responses were examined using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) to identify… More >

Testing the internal factor reliability of an Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) measure for a South African higher education setting

    Mariette Coetzee*, Linda Naidoo

    Journal of Psychology in Africa, Vol.35, No.5, pp. 627-634, 2025, DOI:10.32604/jpa.2025.065791 - 24 October 2025

Abstract This study developed and tested the internal reliability of a 27-item Organisational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) scale for higher education institutions. Participants were a probability sample of 452 (N = 452) university staff of a South African open-distance higher education institution (academics 46%, administrative staff 33%, professional and managerial staff 21%). The participants completed the Organisational Citizenship Behaviour questionnaire. Exploratory factor analysis identified a four-construct measurement model for organisational citizenship behaviour: altruism, civic virtue, sportsmanship, and sense of duty and consideration. The sense of duty and consideration is the only factor not previously identified as a factor More >

Investigating Higher Education Teachers’ Well-Being and Its Influencing Multiple Factors: A Systematic Review Approach

    Jian Li1,*, Yunshu He2, Yahao Wang1, Eryong Xue2,*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.27, No.7, pp. 901-928, 2025, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2025.066538 - 31 July 2025

Abstract Background: Teachers from higher education commonly face substantial workloads, resulting in heightened stress and reduced well-being. This has spurred significant academic interest in the determinants of faculty well-being within higher education. Consequently, numerous studies have focused on both understanding these influencing factors and developing strategies to bolster teacher well-being, an area that has gained considerable traction as a research focus. Although systematic reviews have been conducted to elucidate the connections between well-being and particular attributes like emotional regulation, efficacy, and competency, there remains a paucity of reviews that holistically examine the multifaceted factors affecting the… More >

Video-Based Interventions for Adolescents and Young Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Systematic Review

    Mohammed Al Jaffal*

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.25, No.8, pp. 881-890, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ijmhp.2023.028982 - 06 July 2023

Abstract Many individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) experience delays in the development of social and communications skills, which can limit their opportunities in higher education and employment resulting in an overall negative impact to their quality of life. This systematic review identifies 15 studies that explored the effectiveness of Video-Based Interventions (VBIs) for those with ASD during the critical years of adolescence and young adulthood. The 15 studies described herein found this to be an effective intervention for this population for the improvement of their vocational, daily living, and academic skills. In addition, VBIs allow… More >

Automating Transfer Credit Assessment-A Natural Language Processing-Based Approach

    Dhivya Chandrasekaran*, Vijay Mago

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2257-2274, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027236 - 16 June 2022

Abstract Student mobility or academic mobility involves students moving between institutions during their post-secondary education, and one of the challenging tasks in this process is to assess the transfer credits to be offered to the incoming student. In general, this process involves domain experts comparing the learning outcomes of the courses, to decide on offering transfer credits to the incoming students. This manual implementation is not only labor-intensive but also influenced by undue bias and administrative complexity. The proposed research article focuses on identifying a model that exploits the advancements in the field of Natural Language… More >

Majida Kazmi1,*, Hashim Raza Khan1,2, Lubaba2, Mohammad Hashir Bin Khalid2, Saad Ahmed Qazi1,2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2351-2370, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026265 - 16 June 2022

Abstract Energy management benefits both consumers and utility companies alike. Utility companies remain interested in identifying and reducing energy waste and theft, whereas consumers’ interest remain in lowering their energy expenses. A large supply-demand gap of over 6 GW exists in Pakistan as reported in 2018. Reducing this gap from the supply side is an expensive and complex task. However, efficient energy management and distribution on demand side has potential to reduce this gap economically. Electricity load forecasting models are increasingly used by energy managers in taking real-time tactical decisions to ensure efficient use of resources.… More >
